Driven
Scheer Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

See, I can't feel, I can't breath, I am smitten
Even angels will sin, if they're driven

Burned by the sun, on my skin, burnt my fingers
Curse myself into the wind, hear it whisper

Now I know I've started something
Now I know I've started something
These secrets, will tell themselves, someday

Now I know I've started something
Sometimes I feel you burn through me
And I can't move, and I can't breath
And all this things will stay with me
'Til I've lost you

Now I know I've started something
Started something, started something

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Scheer's song "Driven" convey a sense of intense desire and passion that one cannot control. The singer confesses that they are completely consumed by their feelings for someone or something, and they are experiencing a physical and emotional sensation of being unable to breathe because of it. The reference to angels sinning implies that even the purest or most divine beings can succumb to temptation, especially if they are driven by their desires. The lines "burned by the sun, on my skin, burnt my fingers, curse myself into the wind, hear it whisper" describe a feeling of being exposed and vulnerable, almost as if the singer is physically hurting because of their emotions. However, they seem to have accepted that they have started something that they can't control, and the secrets will eventually reveal themselves.

Throughout the song, the singer repeats the phrase "now I know I've started something" several times, emphasizing the realization and acceptance that they've set something in motion that they can't stop. They also mention feeling the other person's presence intensely, almost to the point of being immobilized by it. They know that the things they're feeling will stay with them until they lose the person or thing that caused them in the first place.

Overall, the lyrics to "Driven" capture the feeling of being overwhelmed by passion and emotion to the point of losing control. The singer seems to have accepted their fate and is resigned to the fact that they've started something they can't undo.

The food Guide is a guide. No one is forcing you what to eat it's a health recommendation. Jeez the us vs them strategy really falls flat here.

Justin 'Coom' Sicle

Its about the money. The only people outraged are the lobbyists. The dairy lobbyists are angry so bought and paid for spineless shills like the guy in this video become puppets for them. Welcome to modern politics in the west, try not to vomit

It's reassuring to see so many people voice their preference for an industry-objective, science based food guide.

Al Fador

Why let science get in the way of a national food guide when money and lobbyists can?

OK Scheer you keep your son drinking that chocolate milk and lets see what he looks like at 25. As an obese man myself drinking sugar like found in chocolate milk and pop has led me down the unhealthy path I am on. Drinking That kind of stuff everyday is just going to lead to heartbreak down the road for him.
I've seen a dietitian. I've followed the old Canada food guide. I gained weight. The old guide IS AN AGENDA to get us to eat more meat and dairy. Which was fine when the population used to be more active...we aren't anymore. And look at where that is getting us. If the new guide helps people lose weight and maintain healthy weights it should be tried. It's a proven fact that eating less meat and dairy and adding alternatives that provide similar nutrition leads to better health outcomes.
Should we all take years off our lives so farmers and corps can sell more meat and milk?

Rineet

Here here. Scheer is a joke. If the only way he can control his son is by giving him chocolate, he might want to take care of his household before trying to run a country. Absolute joke

The food guide isn't law... it's a GUIDE.

Ange Waters for most people you are correct. But for people living in a group home, hospital or nursing home, this is their diet. It is the mandate of these government organizations that they follow the food guide. It is not a reasonable or overly nutritious way to eat.

Hector Hernandez

It has ramification for public intitutions that offer food (prisions, hospitals, etc.) that said the food guide was done in the most unbiased way.

It's Canada, where you can blame the Newfies for anything
