This scene is actually inspired by the story of Samson in the Bible. God gave Samson Godly strength but in order to keep his strength he could never cut his hair. Samson fought several battles with the Philistine tribe and defeated them with nothing but his incredible strength. At one point Samson revealed to a woman he was in love with the secret to his strength, his long uncut hair, but that woman was a Philistine and through her the Philistines found out the secret to Samson’s strength. With this information, they sent men in the dead of night to cut Samson’s hair, effectively nerfing him, and then capture him. He was brought to the Philistine temple for their God Dagon in Gaza, and chained to 2 of the columns supporting the roof of the temple. Samson called out to God asking for his strength and then he ripped those columns down and brought the roof of the temple down on the Philistines and himself. God has given him the strength to defeat his enemies one more time
