SCOTT (Moffatt) Official Bio:
*SCOTT is a singer, songwriter, producer from Canada, who started his career performing with his brothers in the band The Moffatts.
*The Moffatts would go on to sell 6 million records world-wide, record 7 albums, win MTV and MUCH Music awards, host the JUNOs and perform over 5,000 concerts all by the time they were 17 years old.
*In 2001, The Moffatts broke up.
*But that was not the end of things.
*Since then, SCOTT’s continuing world-wide musical journey has touched down in Los Angeles, Bangkok, Nashville, Montreal, Calgary, Victoria and London, ON.
*He’s been busy.
*It really all started with indie band, The Boston Post, where he toured Canada seemingly ceaselessly. This was a time of blissful insanity. But it was a beautiful time. A time of learning and friendship and going out into the world to make his own mistakes.
*Then The Boston Post imploded.
*In 2004, SCOTT moved to Los Angeles with his Boston Post co-founder Shawn Everett. During this period, he released his first solo record, Allegory of the City. A stripped down bedroom recording, drawing comparisons to Simon and Garfunkel, The Zombies, Elliot Smith and Sufjan Stevens. A sort of predecessor to Kurt Vile.
*SCOTT moved to Bangkok, late 2006. He signed on as in-house-producer for Sony BMG and garnered producer of the year 2 years in a row. This was all in conjunction with his greatest panic attack. It lasted 3 years and the cortisol still runs high. But he worked harder during this period than he had in years. His last production job in Thailand was Tabasco’s **1984** and this received critical acclaim and helped them win Best New Band of the Year.
*While in Thailand, SCOTT started working on the beginnings of his next solo recording. This turned out the framework for his self-produced (mixed by Ken Lewis - Kayne West, One Republic, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars) first single, Whenever Not Ever; recorded on a late and swelteringly hot night somewhere in the tropics, this Samba-influenced song about giving love, dealing with insanity and seeing beauty in the most compromising times will make your shoulders sway. The video for **Whenever Not Ever** was directed, filmed, edited and physically created by SCOTT along with his brother Clint (Endless Summer) and tells the story of a boy trying to survive in a hungry world, but he still manages to find beauty in-between the moments of fear and struggle.*
*2015 is already turning into a great year. The first single “Whenever Not Ever” has received airplay in Argentina and Chile and plans for an Eastern Canadian tour have been set in motion.
