By the mid 1990's Thomas had become a fixture on the LA club circuit taking up residency on Tuesday nights at Club Largo in the Fairfax district, where he, along with Jon Brion, Aimee Mann, Rufus Wainwright and Grant Lee Phillips, would help establish Largo as a weekly 'scene.' His 1998 Elektra release as described by BAM magazine - "One listen to California, the Scott Thomas Band's debut album, and you'll know this is the real thing. His voice equal parts Jeff Tweedy and Jackson Browne...Thomas and band emerged from the forest with the finest slice of SoCal since Gram Parsons untimely death two and a half decades ago." Thankyou Scot the song was a highlight of the night. Got lots of comments about the song, the way I did it with the words written down and in envelopes so guest could follow the words. But the down side was a lot of guests had tears watching me and my daughter dancing to your song. There are too many complement's to put down on here but you can take it from me and my tearful daughter, wife { step mum }, photographer, events manager, sister and family, and many guests that it was the perfect song.

My dad is a pretty tough one. I didn't grow up having long conversations with him, hugging or saying the ILY's. He's pretty reserved and provides for us. So I treasured the occasional hugs on birthdays and Christmas. I would very much love to dance with him to this song at my wedding.

this will be that song i dance to with my step-dad. i call him my dad, he loved me when no one else could, he earned the title of dad.. or in the south daddy. if he wants to of course. but i want this to be an option. i’m only 15 now but i can’t imagine anything else to dance to. i’m just listening to music and this played randomly. this song is one that will make you cry. and i’m sure my daddy will cry when he hears it and when we dance to it.. hopefully. anyways, i love this song. i hope me and my daddy can dance to this at my wedding. i hide behind my phone all the time and i’m trying to get out of that habit. i love you daddy. ❤

I led my daughter down the isle last week. She finally married her school sweetheart after 14 years . We laughed and cried but when we danced to this beautiful tune we both looked at each other and sang the lyrics to this song. 🍷
