Keep On Walking
Scouting for Girls Lyrics

I wait up each night, for the sound of your car.
Well, well well, we both knew it wouldn't be easy.
Oh how we both knew it wouldn't be easy.
Oh yeah yeah, but oh I never thought it ever be, ever be this hard.
It's been three weeks, since I got a decent sleep.
I've a restless head and an empty bed, these dreams are killing me so,
I keep on walking til the sun comes up.
I keep on walking til the sun comes up.
I keep on walking til the sun comes up.
I'm bored and alone, it's been far too long.
Why don't you come home, it's where you belong.
Well well well, we all could do with the money, yeah.
Well we all could do with the money.
But oh what's the use of the money, when we ain't got no time
The lyrics of Scouting for Girls' song "Keep on Walking" express the pain and frustration of being left alone by someone you love. The singer is waiting for their loved one to come back home, but it seems like they're not coming back anytime soon. The lyrics are filled with melancholy, with the singer waiting for the sound of their car every night. It's clear that the loved one has been gone for a while and the singer is struggling to cope with their absence.
The songwriter makes it apparent that both parties knew it wouldn't be easy, but the reality of it all is harder than expected, with the singer stating that "I never thought it ever be, ever be this hard." The singer is struggling to get any decent sleep; they have a restless head and an empty bed that is hauntingly quiet. The situation has driven them to the edge of their sanity, with their dreams killing them. The only thing that brings them peace is walking until the sun comes up.
Overall, the lyrics convey a sense of loneliness, frustration and abandonment, with the singer feeling as if their loved one has left them alone in a world they don't belong to. The song is not about giving up but rather taking the first step of walking towards the light, despite a deep sense of sadness.
