The use and the balance of contradictions are an important trademark of Seabound. The songs range from cold, synthetic, sometimes harsh sounds to catchy, sometimes fragile melodies, merging day and night.
The lyrics deal with obsession, devotion, doubts, anger and fear. Yet there is always an underlying craving for fulfillment in the songs, a quest for love. Seabound combine vulnerability with anger, fantasies of power with fear. An ubiquitous theme of their songs is the challenge of confronting your deepest and most personal desires.
Their music is personal and honest, but blended with a lot of fantasy. They offer very personal insights into the psyche and they would like to take you on a strange emotional journey.
They also sing about the sea and boat-related things.

Murder
Seabound Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Leave this city
Drive for hours
Nothing special on your mind
Hitchhiker
Cute female
Stop, let her in
You have plenty of time
Your mind drifted away
Sounds deadened
Yet you want her to stay
Quiet company is what you want
A body for you
Reach out your hand
Are we responsible?
Oh who can you blame?
For the absurdity
For all the pain
Do you feel responsible?
Oh who would you blame?
For this glutton for fear
For all the pain
...
Can I trust you?
Would you trust me?
Do I know you?
Is there certainty?
More than ever
I wish I understood
Your motivation
What's bad? What's good?
A is an outcast
B is a fool
C is lonely as can be
D is cruel
Something that you lacked early in your life
The consequences might last until you die.
Are we responsible?
Oh who can we blame?
For the absurdity
For all the pain
Do you feel responsible?
Oh who would you blame?
For this glutton for fear
For all the pain
Tell me
The lyrics to Seabound's song "Murder" tell the story of a man who picks up a hitchhiking woman and asks her to join him on a long drive to nowhere in particular. As they drive, the man's mind wanders, and he becomes fixated on the idea of having the woman's body. He questions his own responsibility for his morbid thoughts and wonders who is to blame for the pain and suffering in the world.
The lyrics suggest that the man is struggling with his own desires and motivations. He questions whether he can trust the woman, whether he truly knows her, and whether he can trust his own instincts. The chorus repeats the question, "Are we responsible? Oh who can we blame? For the absurdity, for all the pain." The song is a meditation on the nature of responsibility, guilt, and blame in a world where violence and suffering seem all too common.
The lyrics also contain a number of references to different characters, from the unnamed hitchhiker to the mysterious figures A, B, C, and D. These characters represent different aspects of human nature, such as outcast, fool, lonely, and cruel. The song suggests that all of these aspects are present in each of us, and that we must confront and acknowledge them if we are to be free from the pain and suffering that they cause.
Overall, "Murder" is a haunting and thought-provoking exploration of some of the darkest corners of the human psyche. It is a sobering reminder that we are all capable of violence and harm, but also that we have the power to choose a different path.

Got this song on a self made tape from an email friend in 1999. He said that his cousin was member of the band Seabound 🤷🏼♀️. That's how I found out about the band. Loved the song from this first moment.
@pixelfascination
I agree, this is 100% Seabound, the immense electronica and the deep psychology give it away.

Thanks a lot for the information! I don't want to rule out the possibility, but I kind of recognize a sound similar to the early Seabound works. Yes, it's produced very differently but there are also a lot of similarities with the sound they had back then. What's ironic is that Seabound released an album of rare tracks etc, but it was mostly filled with remixes, sadly. Maybe they can't release more tracks because of rights issues.
