Georgia
Sean Stemaly Lyrics

I could still see you dancin′ on River Street
Your heels and hand to a cover band in your bare feet
Sundress and sun kissed skin
One look you did me in
I can't forget those Savannah nights
No matter hard I try, cause

I got exes still in Texas
A couple girls that I don′t mess with
Your the reason I ain't seein'
California girls when I′m dreamin′
I've walked to Memphis a night or two
I′ll spend my last dime calling Baton Rouge
But, even after all this time I still got
Georgia on my mind

We spent a week making promises we couldn't keep
And every night we were acting like I didn′t have to leave
Spanish moss and river walks
Midnight to morning talks
Even though it's been so long
There′s just no moving on

I got exes still in Texas
A couple girls that I don't mess with
Your the reason I ain't seein′
California girls when I′m dreamin'
I′ve walked to Memphis a night or two
I'll spend my last dime calling Baton Rouge
But, even after all this time I still got Georgia on my mind
I still got Georgia on my mind

I got exes still in Texas
A couple girls that I don′t mess with
Your the reason I ain't seein′
California girls when I'm dreamin'
I′ve walked to Memphis a night or two
I′ll spend my last dime calling Baton Rouge

But, even after all this time I still got Georgia on my mind...
I still got Georgia on my mind

Overall Meaning

In Sean Stemaly's song "Georgia," the lyrics describe the lasting memory of a past love that took place in Georgia. The first verse paints a vivid picture of a memorable night the singer shared with his past love in Savannah. He reflects on her dancing barefoot to a cover band and her sun-kissed skin in a sundress. Despite all his efforts, the memory of this night and his past love still lingers on, and he can't forget "those Savannah nights."

In the second verse, the lyrics continue to reflect on the lingering memory of the past love. The singer has tried to move on and even mentions exes in Texas and girls he doesn't mess with, but he still can't shake the memory of his past love in Georgia. He has walked to Memphis and spent his last dime calling Baton Rouge, but the memory of Georgia still haunts him. The chorus repeats the idea that even after all this time, the singer still has Georgia on his mind.

Overall, "Georgia" is a song about a past love and the lasting memories that remain. Despite the singer's efforts to move on and forget, his experiences in Georgia still hold a special place in his heart.
