Seawind Lyrics

(Bob Wilson, Mark Vieha)
What cha doin'
What cha do to me
I can't stand it
I just can't believe it
What cha doin'
I can't stand it
Like a rubber band
You stretch me out, and then ya snap me back
Don't know where I stand
I'm havin' a love attack
Gotta give me all your love baby
I know you got enough
I'm spinnin' my wheels spinnin' my wheels
Fell so good it can't be real
What cha doin'
What cha do to me
Like the music
You just keep me dancin'
What cha doin'
What cha do to me
I can't stand it
Oh I'm up and down
My feet in the clouds, my face is on the ground
Got me inside out
And laughin' like a circus clown
What cha doin'
What cha do to me
Like the music
You just keep me dancin'
What cha doin'
What cha do to me
I can't stand it
Love never felt like this
You're all that I desire
Settin' me on fire everytime we kiss
Baby, your love's got me runnin' like a fool
How do you make me do the things I do
What cha do to me
What cha doin'
What cha do to me
Like the music
You just keep me dancin'
What cha doin'
What cha do to me
I can't stand it
The lyrics to Seawind's song "What Cha Doin'" describe the overwhelming feeling of love and desire that the singer is experiencing toward their partner. The metaphor of a rubber band being stretched and snapped back symbolizes the singer's emotional state - they are being pushed and pulled by their feelings for their partner, unsure of where they stand. The singer is asking for their partner to give them all their love, recognizing that they are being consumed by it.
The references to music and dancing add to the overall joyful and lively tone of the song. The singer is so enamored with their partner that they feel like they are flying, but also falling at the same time. They describe feeling like a "circus clown" and being turned "inside out" by their partner's love. The lyrics highlight the highs and lows of being in love and experiencing such strong emotions.
Overall, the song captures the electrifying feeling of falling head over heels in love and the way it can upend a person's life. The repetition of the lines "what cha doin'" and "what cha do to me" serve to emphasize the overwhelming nature of the singer's feelings and how they are unable to control them.

First time hearing this. Glad to find out the DID get on the charts at some point. Amazing band this was/is (since, they are now back together again.) For me, "Follow Your Road" was the song that "put them on the charts" for me.

I remember this jam! A jam from a group that made its mark, then just faded away. But this is a great one, IMO.

I think Pauline Wilson and her husband started singing Gospel music. I remember because I had their album.
William's Jazz Loft
@Yansa Toussaint That's correct; in 1981 Bob and Pauline released Somebody Loves You

It's been over 40 years, last I heard this. My mom had the 45. It's the only reason I retained memory of it.
