Second Image were one of the many underground BritFunk bands that got no airplay on mainstream radio or TV in Britain at the time.
Unless you listened to the Pirate radio stations you would probably would have never heard them at all. They were up there with the best of them. Big up Second Image and thanks for the memories.

Now this is the track that really rocked it for Brit Funk band back in 1983, from their debut Special Lady, the Robbie Vincent managed band back then never had the commercial success of Loose Ends, Soul 2 Soul etc but gained a cult following with George Bromfield on vocals

Outstanding jazz funk from Britain's one and only Second Image. Loved the Instrumental of 'Special Lady' as well - the 12" Singles of the Vocal and Instrumental (which was the B-side of Better Take Time) are changing hands on eBay these days at a fair price! Quite right. This track ranks alongside 'Don't You' and 'Can't Keep Holding On' as Second Image's very best - but 'Special Lady' was the great track we all danced to at Caister!
