still
Seinabo Sey Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I've been thinking, about tomorrow
Instead of drowning in the past
Oh we had good times even back when
Dreams were all we had to last
So as I wake up this bright morning
Nothing's gonna bring me down
(?) are singing, wind is (bolming?)
Summer's here to stick around

I still, remember me before you
I will, no longer need your rescue
Since I still, remember me before you
I'm no fool
Tell them, I'm no fool
...
It hit so clear, perfectly crystal
I've been here long enough to know
When to leave and when to tell you
Time has come to close the show

I still, remember me before you
I will, no longer need your rescue
Since I still, remember me before you
I'm no fool
Tell them, I'm no fool
I'm no fool
Tell them, I'm no fool
...
Heeey I'm no fool
You need to know that I'm no fool

I am no fool
Baby I'm no fool

Overall Meaning

In Seinabo Sey's song "Still", the lyrics express the singer's thoughts and reflection on her past experiences and relationships. She talks about how she chooses to focus on tomorrow instead of holding onto the past. She acknowledges and appreciates the good times she has had in the past when she and her partner had only dreams to hold onto. The singer awakens to a bright morning in a joyful spirit, with the birds singing and the wind blowing. She is content and happy with where she is now, with no worries to bring her down.

However, the singer also reveals that she has come to a realization that she no longer needs to be rescued by anyone. The line ‘I still, remember me before you. I will, no longer need your rescue’ implies that she has grown and learned from past experiences and is now confident in her abilities to take care of herself. She is no longer blinded by love or dependent on anyone else to rescue her from tough times.

Towards the end, the lyrics become more assertive and end on a strong note. The singer says "you need to know that I am no fool" – a clear message to anyone who may doubt her strength and resilience.

In summary, "Still" is a powerful song about self-reflection, growth, and self-acceptance. The lyrics remind us that we must always remember who we were before we became who we are today.

on Sorry

Wrong when told the right way Might making string your bow

This line seems to be referencing the phrase about adding strings to ones how. The added strings are abilities or skill sets. So doing wrong when you know what is right is a method one can choose but it is chosing sin.

on You

You
by Seinabo Sey

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from

I've been saving you a space
You already won this race
Cause it seems like you are on the run
Won't you tell me what you're hiding from

I need you so I
I need you so I
I need you so I will stay
Yes I will be standing right where you left me
Until you look my way

If you tell me what to do
I'll move mountains showing proof
If you let me i'll turn on the light
Show you all I see in you is right
We might need to speak the truth
All the lies are feeling used
Are you sure you nothing good will come
If we keep on marching to this drum

I need you so I
I need you so I
I need you so I will stay
Yes I will be standing right where you left me
Until you look my way

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from

Won't you tell me to my face
If I'm bound to be replaced
I've been thinking you might be the one
Won't you show me where you're coming from
