1) Selah is a Christian band that has been featured on The 700 Club, The Hour of Power, and TBN. The original 3-person line up consisted of Nicol Sponberg, Allan Hall, and Todd Smith. Their success came quick when they released their first album, Be Still My Soul, in 1999, and would win a Dove Award for that album soon afterwards. They quickly earned a reputation for being able to reveal the heart of any song they record [1] with their music, doing well-known covers of already-famous songs such as "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban and "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts.
In 2004, Nicol Sponberg departed the group, and was replaced by Amy Perry.
Sponberg released her solo debut, Resurrection, that same year on Curb Records; the single "Crazy In Love" crossed over to the secular Adult Contemporary charts while songs like "Safe" continued to earn her airplay on Christian radio.
2) Selah is also a solo British independent artist. In the National "Voice of '99" talent show, Selah was one of the youngest entrants at age 11 and beat competitors to reach 2nd place. She has two LPs, 'Growing Pains, Vol.1', and there is also a Vol. 2. Her label is Base N Rebulz Entertainment/River Sity Alliance Inc.
3) There is a third Selah - also a Christian artist - whose original name is Lisa Watkins, and was born in Washington D.C. She has produced the CD single entitled 'Spritually Speaking'. She has a website at www.pauseandthink.com.
4) Selah was an Ohio-based Christian rock band that recorded a self-titled album for Singcord in 1975. That debut was equally split between covers and originals composed by Steve Millikan and Rod Robinson. A second album WITH CLOUDS followed a year later on Milk and Honey Records of nearly all original songs with the lion's share penned by Millikan.
Last.fm clearly need to create separate profiles for each of the above different artists. However under current policy this won't happen - see FAQ:
"It is currently not possible to disambiguate artists with the same name, which means that if an artist shares their name with at least one other artist, they will have to share one Last.fm artist profile.
Please note that any other valid artist with the same name has the equal right to appear on such a shared profile, including their music, their pictures, their artist description and any other information on them.
It is for instance not allowed to remove their description from the wiki, and it is also not possible to have an official primary image for one artist, while there are other pictures for the other artist(s) which all users can vote for and thus decide which one of the artists should get the "main" image."
Bless Your Name
Selah Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Paul and Silas prayed that night
And in their pain began to sing
Their chains were loosed and they were free
I bless Your name, I bless Your name
I give You honor, give You praise
You are the Life, the Truth, the Way
Some midnight hour if you should find
You're in a prison in your mind
Reach out and praise, defy those chains
And they will fall in Jesus' name
We bless Your name, we bless Your name
We give You honor, give You praise
You are the Life, the Truth, the Way
We bless Your name, we bless Your name
You are the Life, the Truth, the Way
We bless Your name, we bless Your name
The above lyrics are from the song "Bless Your Name" by Selah. The song talks about the story of Paul and Silas, who were imprisoned and in pain, but instead of complaining and cursing God, they chose to pray and sing praises to God. As they sang, something miraculous happened; their chains were loosed, and they were set free. The song encourages listeners to follow their example and be grateful, even in the midst of trials and tribulations.
The lyrics also suggest that one can be in prison not only physically but also emotionally and mentally. The song suggests that even in these situations, one can find freedom through prayer and praise. The lyrics assert that God is the life, the truth, and the way and that one can bless His name and give Him praise irrespective of their circumstances.
In conclusion, the lyrics of Selah's "Bless Your Name" are a reminder that one's attitude towards circumstances plays a significant role in how they handle them. Even in the toughest of situations, praising and worshiping God can bring freedom and hope to the downtrodden.

This is so beautiful. I come back to it often. Paul and Silas were in a terrible place. Mine is nothing like theirs...but my midnight hour comes, and I do get into a prison in my mind. "PRAISE, PRAISE, PRAISE!" I forget this too much. When I remember though, things change. It's not coincidence that the load lightens or the storm quickly abates. "Today, I bless your name, Lord. You are the God of all. Thank you for being my Father and my friend. I'm going to hang onto you today. In Jesus name. Amen!"

My heart is so full. Several years ago I was so bruised and crushed. Id been serving GOd most my life, and was betrayed in a major way. I was so broken at that time. I learned the hard way that prayer alone will not bring victory. In my darkest hours in my life, I learned how to lift up sincere and thankful praise to God. He brought me through all of my pain and hurt. I continue to daily bless His name. Thank you Jesus.
