1) Selah is a Christian band that has been featured on The 700 Club, The Hour of Power, and TBN. The original 3-person line up consisted of Nicol Sponberg, Allan Hall, and Todd Smith. Their success came quick when they released their first album, Be Still My Soul, in 1999, and would win a Dove Award for that album soon afterwards. They quickly earned a reputation for being able to reveal the heart of any song they record [1] with their music, doing well-known covers of already-famous songs such as "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban and "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts.
In 2004, Nicol Sponberg departed the group, and was replaced by Amy Perry.
Sponberg released her solo debut, Resurrection, that same year on Curb Records; the single "Crazy In Love" crossed over to the secular Adult Contemporary charts while songs like "Safe" continued to earn her airplay on Christian radio.
2) Selah is also a solo British independent artist. In the National "Voice of '99" talent show, Selah was one of the youngest entrants at age 11 and beat competitors to reach 2nd place. She has two LPs, 'Growing Pains, Vol.1', and there is also a Vol. 2. Her label is Base N Rebulz Entertainment/River Sity Alliance Inc.
3) There is a third Selah - also a Christian artist - whose original name is Lisa Watkins, and was born in Washington D.C. She has produced the CD single entitled 'Spritually Speaking'. She has a website at www.pauseandthink.com.
4) Selah was an Ohio-based Christian rock band that recorded a self-titled album for Singcord in 1975. That debut was equally split between covers and originals composed by Steve Millikan and Rod Robinson. A second album WITH CLOUDS followed a year later on Milk and Honey Records of nearly all original songs with the lion's share penned by Millikan.
Last.fm clearly need to create separate profiles for each of the above different artists. However under current policy this won't happen - see FAQ:
"It is currently not possible to disambiguate artists with the same name, which means that if an artist shares their name with at least one other artist, they will have to share one Last.fm artist profile.
Please note that any other valid artist with the same name has the equal right to appear on such a shared profile, including their music, their pictures, their artist description and any other information on them.
It is for instance not allowed to remove their description from the wiki, and it is also not possible to have an official primary image for one artist, while there are other pictures for the other artist(s) which all users can vote for and thus decide which one of the artists should get the "main" image."
Timeless
Selah Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's hard to see who I am
Touched, I'm touched by
Many things
So many things I don't
Understand
But seasons pass and I discover
Helping me to hold on to what
Is timeless
CHORUS
So the autumn can color me gold
And the winter can dress me
In snow
But it's You I see,
The timeless part of me
In the springtime I'm young
Once again
In the summer I dance on
The wind
But it's You I see,
The timeless part of me
Change, whether it's good or bad
You know I'm glad You're in
Control
Oh Lord, if I don't understand
I know Your hand will shield my soul
Seasons pass and I discover
Above all this there's another
Helping me to hold on to what is timeless
Repeat CHORUS
The lyrics of Selah’s song “Timeless” speaks to the singer’s struggles with their identity as they go through the changes that come with time. The song is about how life is constantly changing and how it can be difficult to understand oneself, but the timeless nature of God helps the singer to understand who they truly are. The lyrics talk about how the different seasons of life affect the singer, with autumn coloring them gold and winter dressing them in snow. Despite all these changes, the one constant is their faith in a God who is always there for them, guiding them through the ups and downs of life.
The song expresses the idea that change is a natural part of life and that we all need something to hold onto that transcends time itself. This is where the concept of the “timeless” comes into play. The singer acknowledges that there are many things that they do not understand, but they find comfort in the fact that there is a force greater than themselves at work in the universe. Through this belief, the singer finds a sense of peace and security that keeps them grounded even in the midst of chaos.
The song is a beautiful testament to the power of faith and the need for something greater than oneself to guide us through life. The lyrics are poetic and evocative, and the music is uplifting and inspiring. The song reminds us that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope and that the timeless nature of God is something to hold onto when everything else is falling apart.
