Semisane's debut album, 'A Life Less Strange', with its many chart singles, has proved to be a huge and continuing success. There is still an incredible national response to the band's subsequent smash hit single, 'Life (The Theme from Big Brother SA)', with sales in excess of Platinum status.
Semisane - comprising Tikara (vocals, guitar, songwriting), Chris Acker (guitar, songwriting), Sascha Muller (drums,) and Nic Acker (bass) - have moulded into a tight, confident group. This solid and focused band has achieved both broad critical acclaim and continually impressive sales as they gigged and toured extensively, spreading their sparking and rocking pop around the country and across radio and TV. Semisane's record label, BMG Africa, are highly satisfied with the band's progress to date and are confident that 2002 will see the band reaching an even wider audience both nationally and internationally. The band has already made a solid impact on the German market, and its success in SA has continued to catch the attention of the BMG headquarters in Germany.
Semisane has also cemented its excellent and supportive relationship with international clothing label Kangol and Play Energy Drink by signing new sponsorship contracts for 2002. The band are currently hard at work in their studio on material for their as-yet-untitled 2nd album. After taking 2 months off in the beginning of 2002 to write and demo new material, Semisane will be returning to the live circuit in March and April 2002. Semisane have also received their first SA Music Award nomination for "Life" in the "Best Pop Rock Single" category. SAMA 2002 winners will be announced on 13 April 2002.

Just Me
Semisane Lyrics
The things we have to do
To keep a little faith
Always clinging to
What we would have liked
We live until we die
Wasting other′s lives
And stuffing up my right to be
And live my own damn life
All the reasons, changing seasons
Stopping others starting me, yeah
I gotta go and fight my demons
Not run from, just be me
Just being me is fine
'Least most of the time
And being right′s okay
Best part of the way
Just being me is fine
'Least most of the time
And being right's okay
Just being me
You take another life
And watch it die inside
You steal somebody′s wife
Believing that it′s right
We crush each other's dreams
′Cause one thinks that they're right
And is it all for their own sakes
We′re doing what it takes
Just being me is fine
'Least most of the time
And being right′s okay
Best part of the way
Just being me is fine
'Least most of the time
And being right's okay
Just being me
Be yourself, don′t try too hard
It makes sense, be who you are
When you′re being you
And I'm being me
Just being me is fine
′Least most of the time
And being right's okay
Best part of the way
Just being me is fine
′Least most of the time
And being right's okay
Just being me
Just being me
Just being me
Just being me
Being me
Being me
Just being me
Just being me
Just being me
