Semisane - comprising Tikara (vocals, guitar, songwriting), Chris Acker (guitar, songwriting), Sascha Muller (drums,) and Nic Acker (bass) - have moulded into a tight, confident group. This solid and focused band has achieved both broad critical acclaim and continually impressive sales as they gigged and toured extensively, spreading their sparking and rocking pop around the country and across radio and TV. Semisane's record label, BMG Africa, are highly satisfied with the band's progress to date and are confident that 2002 will see the band reaching an even wider audience both nationally and internationally. The band has already made a solid impact on the German market, and its success in SA has continued to catch the attention of the BMG headquarters in Germany.
Semisane has also cemented its excellent and supportive relationship with international clothing label Kangol and Play Energy Drink by signing new sponsorship contracts for 2002. The band are currently hard at work in their studio on material for their as-yet-untitled 2nd album. After taking 2 months off in the beginning of 2002 to write and demo new material, Semisane will be returning to the live circuit in March and April 2002. Semisane have also received their first SA Music Award nomination for "Life" in the "Best Pop Rock Single" category. SAMA 2002 winners will be announced on 13 April 2002.
Now I Know

Could it be angels smiling at me
Sometimes I wonder
Where you are and if you are that star
And I can feel you
And hold you like a thousand times before
But still I am falling for you
Just like a thousand times before
Just like a thousand times before
I don't know what it is that I see
Could it be angels smiling at me
Now I know
Now I know
Now I know
You never planned to go
Now I know
Now I know
Now I know
You never planned to go
Sometimes I wonder
Where you are 'cause you don't seem that far
And I still feel you
If only I had told you that before
I'm dreaming your voice is calling
But still I am falling for you
Just like a thousand times before
Just like a thousand times before
I don't know what it is that I see
Could it be angels smiling at me
Now I know
Now I know
Now I know
You never planned to go
Now I know
Now I know
Now I know
You never planned to go
If only we had one more day
One last chance for me to say
The things I hope you know
I don't know what it is that I see
Could it be angels smiling at me
I'm dreaming your voice is calling
But still I am falling for you
Just like a thousand times before
Just like a thousand times before
I don't know what it is that I see
Could it be angels smiling at me
Now I know
Now I know
Now I know
You never planned to go
Now I know
Now I know
Now I know
You never planned to go
In the song "Now I Know" by Semisane, the singer is reflecting on the loss of a loved one, struggling to make sense of their absence. The opening lines convey a sense of uncertainty and confusion, as the singer expresses perplexity at something they are seeing - could it be angels smiling at them? This image suggests that the singer is searching for meaning or guidance in the wake of their loss, perhaps longing for some sort of divine intervention that could help them understand what they are feeling.
As the song progresses, the singer acknowledges that they can still feel the presence of the person they have lost, even if they are no longer physically present. The lines "Sometimes I wonder / Where you are and if you are that star" suggest that the singer is looking to the sky, searching for some sort of connection to their loved one. Despite the distance between them, the singer still feels a deep emotional attachment to their loved one, and longs to hold them "like a thousand times before."
Throughout the song, the singer returns to the refrain of "Now I know / You never planned to go," a line that suggests that the singer has come to terms with their loved one's absence and is beginning to accept it. The final verse of the song is particularly poignant, as the singer voices the regret they feel for not having had more time to express their love to the person they have lost. This sense of longing and loss is captured beautifully in the song's emotional lyrics and understated melody.
