Few bands have had such an important influence on the Venezuelan rock music movement as Sentimiento Muerto; It was the first band with a group of hardcore followers (groupies), the first to have a coherent approach both musically and image and marketing. Typical disagreements and differences of style and direction that would take the band, coupled with the lack of support from their label, led to the split of the band.
Pablo Dagnino began a solo career in 1996 and early 2000 the group Pixel; Wincho went to study in the United States, on his return has participated as bassist in other groups (including Sur Carabela); Cayayo, Sebastián Araujo and Héctor Castillo formed the band Dermis Tatú, recording an album in Argentina. Cayayo Troconis, one of the most revered guitarists in Venezuela, died on November 17, 1999, shortly after turning 31, of respiratory failure.

Sentimiento Muerto Lyrics

están en ti,
están en mí,
en la antigua procesión a tu lado.
En la antigua procesión a tu lado.
En la antigua procesión a tu lado.
Son, emoción,
tumbas de nuestro abecedario,
cuentos para siempre olvidados.
Están en ti, están en mí,
en las tumbas de nuestro abecedario.
Están en ti, ay, están en mí,
en las tumbas de nuestro abecedario.
Están en ti, están en mí,
en las tumbas de nuestro abecedario.
Están en ti, ay, están en mí,
en las tumbas de nuestro abecedario,
en las tumbas de nuestro abecedario,
en la antigua procesión a tu lado,
en la antigua procesión a tu lado.
Son, emoción,
la magia de ausente sensación,
tumbas de nuestro abecedario,
cuentos para siempre olvidados,
en antigua procesión a tu lado,
en antigua procesión a tu lado.
Ayug, Paye.
The lyrics of Sentimiento Muerto's song Ayug Paye are poignant and thought-provoking. The singer begins by describing the serene chants of captive voices that are present within both themselves and the listener. These voices are reminiscent of an ancient procession, and the repetition of "en la antigua procesión a tu lado" emphasizes the importance of this procession. The singer seems to be describing something beyond our current understanding, something inexplicable, but that still connects us all in a profound way.
The next verse delves deeper into the emotion behind this procession. The singer talks about the magic that comes from a feeling of absence, and the graves of our alphabet ('tumbas de nuestro abecedario') that represent stories that are forgotten forever. The idea of forgotten stories seems to be an allegory for the feeling of losing a part of oneself, or of one's community, something that the procession seems to be trying to prevent.
Overall, the song seems to be emphasizing the idea that there's something intangible and yet essential that connects all of us, and that it's important to honor that connection. The procession represents our collective human experience - both past and present - and the voices within it represent the stories that we've all shared.
