Few bands have had such an important influence on the Venezuelan rock music movement as Sentimiento Muerto; It was the first band with a group of hardcore followers (groupies), the first to have a coherent approach both musically and image and marketing. Typical disagreements and differences of style and direction that would take the band, coupled with the lack of support from their label, led to the split of the band.
Pablo Dagnino began a solo career in 1996 and early 2000 the group Pixel; Wincho went to study in the United States, on his return has participated as bassist in other groups (including Sur Carabela); Cayayo, Sebastián Araujo and Héctor Castillo formed the band Dermis Tatú, recording an album in Argentina. Cayayo Troconis, one of the most revered guitarists in Venezuela, died on November 17, 1999, shortly after turning 31, of respiratory failure.

Estirame el Tiempo
Sentimiento Muerto Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
para que vaya por ti
en una ilusión
en un juego de dedos
Mientras estamos
bebiendo, cayendo
bésame
Estírame el tiempo (bis)
Tus manos
anunciarán mi suerte
atrapado
no puedo verte
Y mientras estamos
bebiendo, cayendo
déjame
estírame el tiempo
Estírame el tiempo (bis)
Siempre te escondes
para que vaya por ti
Estírame el tiempo
The lyrics of Sentimiento Muerto's song "Estírame el Tiempo" convey a sense of longing and desire for someone who continually evades the singer. The first verse suggests that this person always hides, making the singer come after them. They exist in an illusion or game of fingers, perhaps implying that their relationship is characterized by hiding and seeking.
As the song progresses, the singer describes being in a state of drinking and falling, possibly symbolizing a state of vulnerability or intoxication. They ask the person to kiss them and stretch time for them, indicating a desire to prolong their moments together. The repetition of the phrase "Estírame el tiempo" reinforces this longing for time to be stretched or extended.
In the second verse, the singer mentions that the person's hands will determine their fate, suggesting that their actions have a significant impact on the singer's life. However, the singer feels trapped because they cannot see the person, emphasizing their frustration and yearning to be with them.
The final repetition of "Estírame el tiempo" and the last lines of the song "Siempre te escondes/para que vaya por ti" reiterate the theme of hiding and seeking, as well as the constant pursuit of this elusive person.
Overall, the lyrics of "Estírame el Tiempo" evoke a sense of longing, desire, and frustration in the pursuit of someone who continually hides and keeps the singer at a distance. The concept of time being stretched reflects the singer's desire for their moments together to last longer.
