We ve Lost You
Sepultura Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Love is a failure
Hate is just another deadly trap
Trust is just a moment in life which you should command

We've lost you!
Who knows who?
We've lost you!
Pain is faking gain
Profit is no relief
To lie is to justify another lie you take as truth

Who knows who?
We've lost you!

Death is a part of life
As peace is part of war
I just need to clear my mind to learn both sides

Who knows who?
We've lost you!

Overall Meaning

In "We've Lost You!" by Sepultura, the lyrics explore themes of loss and betrayal, showcasing the band's signature heavy and intense sound while conveying a deep sense of grief and confusion. The opening lines, "Love is a failure/Hate is just another deadly trap/Trust is just a moment in life which you should command" seems to suggest that love and trust are not enough to sustain a relationship, and that hate can lead to disastrous results.

The repeated chant of "We've lost you!" combined with the question of "Who knows who?" speaks to the uncertainty and helplessness that comes with losing someone or something important in life. The central message of the song seems to revolve around the idea that we can never really know who or what we have lost until it's too late, and that the pain of losing something can be overwhelming.

Throughout the song, there is a sense of desperation, particularly when the lyrics touch on themes of profit, lying, and death. In the end, the line "I just need to clear my mind to learn both sides" suggests a search for answers and a way to reconcile with the loss.

Gosto muito do Sepultura da década de 1980 e 1990, mas admito que fizeram trabalhos muito inteligentes com Derrick, explorando bastante as ideias do Andreas. Against, A-lex, Dante e Mediator são bons exemplos.

I loved the original sepultura more than anything. This is a different beast, but still pretty awesome in its own right!! Enjoy it as if it was new!

BrugCan

I haven't heard the new sepultura and I must say... It's Aweeeeesoooooome. Derrick has brutal voice and the music, although different from the old Sepultura, has caugh me off guard. Long live to Sepultura

RageOfTheMetalAge

I like the new singer, why can't people let go of the past. You still have all the old albums to listen to. But i think Derrick does a great job in Sepultura!

Roman Hall

I actually came to like the new singer better and according to the number of albums he done you could consider him more a member of sepultura than max

The Warrior

I even dare to say that the modern Sepultura albums (2006-present) are way better than Chaos A.D. and Roots!
