That you were the only one, I'd ever need to know
You said you knew the answers
And you said, that it's just another day
I came here with a voice, a chance to make a choice
An island of a mind, with bridges built with time
And now that I can see, why don't you come with me
It's just another day, it's just another day
And now that I can see, why don't you come with me
'cause it's just another day
I'm not saving grace, use it all the time
Sometimes it gets misplaced, denies that it is mine
And then I just can't see, I get lost in misery
But it's just another day
It's just another day, it's just another day
And now that I can see, why don't you come with me
'cause it's just another day
It's just another day, it's just another day
And now that I can see, why don't you come with me
'cause it's just another day
Come with me, come with me, come with me, it's just another day.
It's just another day, it's just another day
And now that I can see, why don't you come with me
'cause it's just another day.
And now that I can see, why don't you come with me
'cause it's just another day.
And now that I can see, why don't you come with me
'cause it's just another day.
The lyrics to Serena Ryder's song "Just Another Day" convey a message of hope and optimism, urging the listener to take a chance on a new day and embrace the opportunities it brings. The opening lines describe the encounter with another person who imparts a sense of certainty and knowledge, convincing the singer that they are the only one they need. The phrase "you said you knew the answers" implies a trust and faith in this individual, who is perhaps providing guidance in navigating the challenges of life. The repetition of "it's just another day" suggests that the singer is acknowledging the cyclical nature of days and the potential for them to blend together, but choosing to see each one as a fresh start.
The second verse shifts to the singer's personal experiences of navigating their "island" of a mind, with bridges built over time. They are inviting the other person to join them on this journey, acknowledging that they can now see the potential in the day ahead. The lines "I'm not saving grace, use it all the time, sometimes it gets misplaced, denies that it is mine" may suggest a tendency to rely on external sources of validation or solutions, only to realize that they had the answers within them all along. Despite this, the overall message is one of looking forward and taking that first step towards something new.
Overall, the lyrics to "Just Another Day" encourage the listener to see the potential in every day, to embrace new experiences and to trust in their own abilities to find answers.
