As a kid, I worked at a record store in Amsterdam. I was in charge of inventory.
Hearing this song for the first time on Radio Luxembourg, I ordered 10,000 copies
from Philips Records. My boss was shocked by the order which said 'Special delivery.'
He couldn't even read the title of the song. He fired me.
All I said was "Can I take one of the 'Je T'aime's? That leaves you with 9,999."
Later I heard that the record store sold more than 14,000 of 'Je T'aime,... Moi Non Plus'.
It was a huge hit in Holland and reached number 2 on the chart.

I arrived in Firenze, Italia from New York... around Christmas-time 1969. Recovering from a very bad relationship back home... Lovely comment indeed. Love France too. Several years back I started working for an airline and had free travel passes, so I decided to fly to Paris on a whim. Arrived at the airport, and took the metro to the city. When I got off somewhere near Notre Dame and went up the stairs there she was, the loveliest city in the world. It was a magic moment, emerging from the underground to beautiful Paris on a beautiful morning. A moment I'll keep until I die. I spoke some French after taking one semester of French in college with the Pierre Capretz method, and I got around wonderfully. And the French love Americans, and I adore the French, especially the girls, such simple elegance and understated beauty.

Those were the days. The parents wanted our small group to be married together, so we had parties and games. My favorite game was "this or that." The victim would go in the closet and prepare. The moderator would select this person and that person. The victim would call out "this" or "that" and start the music. Then after they were done, "this" or "that" would be the next victim. Same as "spin the bottle" with a closet. Oh what fun.

Nobody understood the lyrics of this song but it took everybody's hearts.
The no understandable but sensual lyrics and the melody makes people to fly away out of our senses to an imaginary making love.
