the Etudes-Tableaux by Rachmanninoff are not Etudes in the sense of them being "studies"... the title means "Study of a Picture" as explained by Rachmanninoff. they were composed from his studying works of art and drawing a musical impression from them. he however never said what pictures he studied, but prefered to let the pianiast "draw in his own mind a picture derived from the music".... a very abstract concept.


I was astonished at how easy this piece was to sight read...however making it just right is what takes more time...Way to go Rachmaninoff, you're my favorite!
