beautiful. Makes me cry, makes me feel like a little particle of sand in the infinity universe. Thanks

Mohammed El Massri

@The Thom of course . He deserves much credit , so do all who took part in bringing out the beauty of the composition .

The Thom

@Mohammed El Massri I think Rachmaninoff can take at least a bit of the credit.

juan8930 and you are much more than a particle of sand in any universe that's the problem not only do you think you're here but you think you're a particle of something that does not exist

Mohammed El Massri

@Mik W We are in reality witnesses to the Glory of the Creator. The beauty in this piece is His .

Mik W

So it makes you feel smaller and less significant than you already are?
It had the opposite effect on me.

Notice how the pianist, Helene Grimaud, often comes in just after the beat, which adds emotion to an already supremely emotional piece. This is a performance for the ages. Savor it, please.

Thomas Dahl

Yes, but I myself would have preferred it more on the beat, instead of after. But the taste is of course different. It's very hard to play slightly 'after the beat', that's true, because you must follow your inner feeling instead of listening in. Anyhow, an excellent performance from all of them.

@Sandra Carli I agree with you: musicians sometimes tend to show off emotions exagerating poses and face expressions (but this is not her case), the best way to convey true emotion is not thinking to do it, just letting it flow

John Cater

Totally agree. Her timing is beautiful.
