Even when Rachmaninoff is being dark and moody, he can't help but weave beautiful melody into the sound.

profound music. just played through this for the first time and just couldn’t believe how deep it was and just how much there is to learn about rachmaninoff

@lukemcdonald1650

in my opinion some minor keys are beautiful and this is one of them I love rachmaninoff preludes

A great composer at the top of his game composes a great solo piano masterpiece, which inspires a great pianist at the top of his game to interpret the music. Cause and effect, and we are the recipients of all that musical training and genius.

This prelude touches something deep inside of me.it is so beautiful,and played marvelously by Vladimir Ashkenazy.
Thank you for making it available

@pedroke72

@cartolaia5233

current mood : Rachmaninov inserting seven f-sharp minor chords at the end of the prelude

@mariusbroucke6233

Rachmaninov was always inspired by the bells of the churge. I think you can recognice it here, but also in other preludes like op 3 no 2
