@Ryan lex Gladly. You see, out of the many marvel movies casting lead white characters and even black characters over and over again (which is not "diversity"). The only Asian characters we've gotten are Wong and Jimmy Woo. With this movie we've been introduced to many other Asian characters / heroes. In a sense, creating more diversity for the MCU as a whole, like what happened with Black Panther. Either way, diversity shouldn't be your deciding factor whether to watch a movie or not. Basically, there shouldn't be a need to cast a ton of black or white characters in an ASIAN REPRESENTATION MOVIE.

Definition of diverse: showing a great deal of variety; very different. (exactly what this movie adds)

As an Asian-Canadian, I can say that for me personally, there's a big difference between the kung fu movies that push Asian stereotypes and a superhero movie with characters I can actually relate to. Just like Simu said... "reflect their lived experience."

I met Awkwafina at a dive bar in Dallas when she was on tour opening up for Kitty Pryde. She was one of the coolest people I have ever met and she is also a really great performer. I never heard of her before that night but I instantly became a fan. I'm so happy to see all of the success that she has gained these past few years, she definitely deserves it!

I watched this movie when it came out and been listening to the soundtrack by 88rising ever since, but I honestly do think that this movie was like an Asian Black panther in a way... the dragon scales to the secret society, also the impact it has on an entire race/ethnicity/culture is the same when BP came out. This movie is really great and if I were Asian I would be so proud. Also, RIP to the legend Chadwick Boseman, you're forever in our hearts <3. Absolute banger movie.

Had just watch this movie yesterday. The cinematography was EPIC. The fighting scene was so satisfiying! Love all the actor and actress and the soundtrack just make every scene 10 times better. 2021 best movie so far. 👍🤣 btw really love to see Shang Chi and Katy, what a wonderful couple! When I was a kid the first time I saw Bruce Lee on the big screen it blew me away. Until then I hadn't seen an Asian person as the leading man in a movie and it made me really proud to be an Asian living in North America. He always played the underdog...never rich or socially powerful but always relied on his quick witted nature and superior fighting skills. I became a lifelong fan and admirer. I guess Simu Liu has taken the role of this generation's youth as the first lead Asian superhero in the MCU. I hope he will inspire young impressionable Asians positively like I was at that time.

He pronounced 'Shang' in this trailer is correct. Watching media on Youtube, I found that foreigners wrongly pronounce 'Shang' to 'Shaun/song'. According to the name of movie in Chinese, 尚氣should be written as Shang Qi (mandarin), not Shang Chi. Don't know why Marvel made such a mistake!
