The events of the past are finished and done with

Stripped of my clearance - fired
I lost my job, and with it, access to certain knowledge or resources

I don't know what to do
I feel lost and unsure of how to move forward

Haunted by empty faces
The memory of people who have turned away or rejected me lingers and troubles me

Victims of warring madness
People are suffering due to the madness and destruction caused by conflict

If they only knew
If people were aware of the truth or the reality of a situation

Their world's a bloody mess
The state of the world is chaotic, violent, and generally unpleasant

Some corporate bottom line
The interests of big business or profit are prioritized over people or the environment

I tried to ask and they treat me like a threat
When I attempted to ask questions or seek answers, I was met with hostility or suspicion

And they slammed the door behind
They refused to provide any help or support, and cut off any possibility of communication

Reaching out in my world, Becomes a matter of, Connections to the net
My efforts to connect with others, learn more about the world, or find a sense of purpose now rely heavily on the internet and technology

I've locked myself in real good
I have isolated myself in order to focus on researching or gaining knowledge

Investigative research, Looking for what is real
I am conducting careful and meticulous research in order to uncover the truth or understand the world better

Welcome to the brave new world
I am faced with a new and unfamiliar world, which may be exciting or terrifying

No light inside my soul
I feel empty or lost, lacking any sort of spiritual or emotional fulfillment

The more I learn the deeper in I'm drawn
As I gain more knowledge or information, I become increasingly fascinated and engrossed in my investigations

The deeper in I fall
However, this intense focus and curiosity is also leading me down a dangerous path

Ain't it strange how wars get raged to sounds of smashing dreams
It is unsettling or disturbing how wars can be fought for abstract or insubstantial reasons, with devastating consequences

One world, No Chance
It seems like there is only one path forward, and it is a bleak or hopeless one

Is this the new human race?
I am questioning whether humanity has reached a new and undesirable state of existence

A faceless contact with life
I feel disconnected or isolated from other people or the world around me

Imaginary places stealing all of my time
I feel like I am wasting my life or investing too much energy into pointless or illusory things

Is this a test of my faith?
I am wondering if my belief system or values are being challenged or tested

What's to become of my life
I am unsure of where my life is heading or what the future holds for me

I used to see it so clear
In the past, I had a clear and confident sense of my life's direction or purpose

But now I've lived to see it pass away, Before my eyes
However, that clarity or sense of purpose has faded away over time, leaving me feeling lost and uncertain
