1, Shaggy (born October 22, 1969, in Kingston, Jamaica as Orville Richard Burrell), is a Jamaican reggae artist who takes his nickname from his shaggy hair. He is especially notable for his distinctive sub-baritone voice.
His family immigrated to the United States and they settled in the neighborhood of Flatbush, Brooklyn, located in New York City, New York, USA.
In 1988, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served during Operation Desert Storm during the Persian Gulf War.
On his return from Iraq, he decided to pursue his music career and his first hit in 1993: "Oh Carolina", was a dancehall re-make of a ska hit by the Folkes Brothers. The same year, Shaggy appeared on Kenny Dope's hip hop album "The Unreleased Project". He worked together with producers such as Sting Intl., Don One (who cut his first track), Lloyd 'Spiderman' Campbell and Robert Livingston. He had further big hits, including "Boombastic" in 1995.
He then had a major comeback in 2001, featuring worldwide number-one hit singles "It Wasn't Me" and "Angel," the latter of which was built around Merrilee Rush's 1968 hit "Angel of the Morning" (which was remade in 1981 by Juice Newton). The album Hot Shot, from which those cuts came, would hit number one on the Billboard 200.
However, his 2002 release Lucky Day, and the 2005 album Clothes Drop failed to match Hot Shot's success.
Shaggy performed the theme for Showtime (film), a 2002 movie.
2, Shaggy, a swedish rock/blues rock band from the 1970's. Released one album, "Lessons for beginners"

You tell the future
Or maybe your future blank
Parental advisory
You're thinking that you're grown now
You got you eyes set on the street
Somehow you think that you can stand on your feet
Tell me how can you quire these things
I know just what you are thinking
The road you wanna take will leave you sinking
You wanna roll around with your crew
Tow drunks,
gang bangs,
steal cars
Doing all of these horrible things
Now tell me how were you mislead so easily
When you was raised better by your family
You try to be something that you aren't meant to be
Your mamas on her knees
Pray to god every night
Cause she knows that you are
Lost in the still of the night
Ain't no need to loose sight
She'll be holding the light
I'm lost in the still of the night
Ain't no need to loose sight
She'll be holding the light
See son it's never too late
The effort to correct is never to great
A family should stick together
One blood,
one love,
one heart
Open arms welcome you at the gate
You're thinking that I'm crazy
I see through all them see your visions
I'm fried up with the premonitions
Black suits
Long faces
Sad words
Slow singing at the side of your grave
Now tell me how were you mislead so easily
When you was raised better by your family
You try to be something that you aren't meant to be
Your mammas on her knees
Pray to god every night
Cause she knows that you are
Lost in the still of the night
Ain't no need to loose sight
She'll be holding the light
I'm lost in the still of the night
Ain't no need to loose sight
She'll be holding the light
[Repeat: x2]
Whenever I'm low
All I need to know
Is that you're there for me
You're down for me
My strength when I'm weak
[Repeat: x2]
Lost in the still of the night
Ain't no need to loose sight
She'll be holding the light
I'm lost in the still of the night
Ain't no need to loose sight
She'll be holding the light
The lyrics of "Lost" by Shaggy talks about a young person who thinks they are grown and can take care of themselves, but in reality, they are lost and heading down the wrong path. The song is written from the perspective of a concerned adult, likely a parent or a mentor, who knows that the lifestyle choices the young person is making will lead them to a difficult place filled with danger and darkness. The lyrics encourage the young person to take a step back, to reconsider their choices, and to seek the help and support of their family.
The song uses a lot of imagery to convey its message. The first verse talks about someone who can tell the future, but their future is blank. This could be a metaphor for the young person's lack of direction and purpose. The second verse talks about how the young person wants to be like their friends, who are involved in dangerous and illegal activities such as gang bangs and stealing cars. But the lyrics warn that this lifestyle will only lead to a tragic end.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the idea that the young person is lost, but there is still hope. The mother is always there, praying for her child and offering support and guidance. The lyrics use the image of the light to show that there is always hope and that no matter how dark things may seem, one can always find a way back.
Overall, "Lost" is a cautionary tale about the dangers of trying to be something you're not and the importance of family support and guidance.
