1, Shaggy (born October 22, 1969, in Kingston, Jamaica as Orville Richard Burrell), is a Jamaican reggae artist who takes his nickname from his shaggy hair. He is especially notable for his distinctive sub-baritone voice.
His family immigrated to the United States and they settled in the neighborhood of Flatbush, Brooklyn, located in New York City, New York, USA.
In 1988, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served during Operation Desert Storm during the Persian Gulf War.
On his return from Iraq, he decided to pursue his music career and his first hit in 1993: "Oh Carolina", was a dancehall re-make of a ska hit by the Folkes Brothers. The same year, Shaggy appeared on Kenny Dope's hip hop album "The Unreleased Project". He worked together with producers such as Sting Intl., Don One (who cut his first track), Lloyd 'Spiderman' Campbell and Robert Livingston. He had further big hits, including "Boombastic" in 1995.
He then had a major comeback in 2001, featuring worldwide number-one hit singles "It Wasn't Me" and "Angel," the latter of which was built around Merrilee Rush's 1968 hit "Angel of the Morning" (which was remade in 1981 by Juice Newton). The album Hot Shot, from which those cuts came, would hit number one on the Billboard 200.
However, his 2002 release Lucky Day, and the 2005 album Clothes Drop failed to match Hot Shot's success.
Shaggy performed the theme for Showtime (film), a 2002 movie.
2, Shaggy, a swedish rock/blues rock band from the 1970's. Released one album, "Lessons for beginners"
Thank You Lord

For shower of good blessings
Right now I gotta give thanks
And praise most I
[Chorus]
Thank you Lord for what you've done for me
To the Father I say
I go down on my knees and pray
Thank you Lord for every little thing yeah
Thank you Lord for now you made me see
Sing along, sing along
Now when I look back in the days of all the sweat and
all the dues I paid
I go down on my knees and pray
And give thanks to the Father for the blessings that he shined on me
I sing a little song of praise
Though I know that everybody ain't as fortunate as I may be
One more time I say
Words cannot express appreciation what he's done for me
Right now I say thank you Lord
[Chorus]
When I look back at all the things that the Father has done for me
I give thanks to the Lord and everyday i'm on my knee
Write the song now to please
No matter the color nor the creed
It was invested in me I'm here to do a good deed hey
I try to put a smile on your face
I write a simple song so it appeals to your taste
I tried to do the things that people appreciate
Well thanks for the music that they all embrace
And I say thank you Lord
[Chorus]
Say I'm in no competition
But I have made my decision
You can keep your opinion
I am just a calling on the wise man communion
[Chorus]
I thank the Lord once again for the power of the pen
Yes I be making ends to feed my family and my friends
Push out my Benz check your lens
Beg you ease up off my fence
Mi afi push out my mother in the latest gems
I have to put the food upon mi table
Have to feed the little mouth them in my stable
Hail up to the Big Yard label
And me say thank you Massa God that I am able
Give thanks to the Lord
[Chorus]
Said I want to thank you
Shaggy want to thank you now
Said the people got to thank you
The song Thank You Lord by Shaggy, featuring Ky-Mani Marley, is a gospel-inspired reggae track about giving thanks and appreciation to God for the blessings in their lives. The song has three verses with each artist reflecting on their own gratitude towards God. They speak about the times of struggle and hardship they have faced, but through it all, they have been blessed and shown favor. The chorus expresses their gratitude for these blessings and the recognition that it’s all because of God’s grace.
The opening lines of the song are a direct address to God as they declare that this song is for Him. Shaggy and Ky-Mani Marley acknowledge all the blessings that have come their way and show gratitude for what God has done in their lives. They express their willingness to go down on their knees and show reverence to the Lord. In the second verse, Ky-Mani Marley sings about how much he appreciates God for even the little things in his life that others might take for granted. For him, every victory is a testament to God’s faithfulness. Lastly, Shaggy is thankful for his talents as a singer and songwriter and acknowledges that it is his way of providing for his family and friends.
