Even though Marilyn Monroe was celebrated during her life, her mortality serves as a reminder of life's brevity and fragility

Jesus is Alive
Contrasted with the other people mentioned who have passed away, Jesus Christ is alive and relevant in the present

Brando is dead, James Brown is dead
Other prominent figures in cinema and music have also died

Princess Di and John Lennon are dead
Even beloved Princess Diana and musician John Lennon have passed away

Biggie and Pac are dead- however
Talented rappers Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur are no longer with us, but there is still someone else who is alive

Jesus is Alive
As stated before, Jesus is very much alive and relevant to us today

Nowadays, people are focused on other celebrities and icons in popular culture

Even the founder of the Nation of Islam is deceased

Jesus is Alive
Once again, it is emphasized that Jesus Christ is indeed living despite other religious leaders being deceased

Throughout history there's been mad religious leaders
There have been many religious leaders throughout history who have made an impact on society

Prophets, preachers, scholars, teachers
These religious figures include those who prophesied, those who preached, those who studied, and those who taught

But when it came to the grave, no one could climb out
Despite the influence these leaders had, they were still mortal and could not escape death

That's where Jesus stands alone like taking a 'timeout'
Comparing Jesus' resurrection to standing 'alone' emphasizes his unique ability to triumph over death

And don't be mislead- I got a level head
The artist claims to have a rational and clear-headed perspective, so listeners should not be misled by false information

No resurrection, Christianity would have never spread
The artist is asserting that Christianity could not have gained widespread following if the cornerstone of its beliefs, the resurrection, were not true

Each of them taking the stand reporting what they saw
Each of the 500 people would be testifying to their own individual experience of seeing the risen Christ

If their stories lined up and made sense
If all 500 people's testimonies agreed and seemed truthful, it would be difficult to deny the reality of the situation

The evidence would have to leave you convinced
Given the overwhelming evidence of so many eyewitnesses, it would be difficult to not believe in the resurrection

But still it's by faith that we trust and praise the Son
Despite there being evidence for the resurrection, faith is still necessary to fully accept and trust in Jesus Christ

Who was raised for our justification
Jesus' resurrection serves as the means for the forgiveness of sins and justification for believers

Nero is dead, Constantine is dead
Even emperors and other leaders from history have passed away

Genghis Khan and Attila the Hun are dead
Other conquerors and leaders who were infamous in their time have passed away

Alexander the Great is dead- however
Even though Alexander was considered great in his time, he is now deceased

Jesus is Alive
In contrast, it is once again asserted that Jesus Christ is still living

Napoleon is dead, Lao Tzu is dead
Even famous conquerors and philosophers have passed away

Che Guevara and Henry VIII are dead
Other famous historical figures, such as Che Guevara and King Henry VIII, are deceased

Saddam Hussein is dead- however
Even modern-day tyrants like Saddam Hussein have died

Jesus is Alive
Yet Jesus Christ still lives on to this day

Through faith in Christ, we've been saved from hell
Believing in Jesus Christ and his resurrection is the way for people to avoid eternal damnation in hell

Because He's risen, it means we'll be raised as well
Through the resurrection of Jesus, believers can experience their own resurrection into eternal life

In glorified bodies fit for the new earth
Those who are resurrected will receive new, glorified bodies that are suited for a new and different earth

For now, we participate in the new birth
Before the resurrection, believers participate in the spiritual rebirth that comes from faith in Jesus

The universal reality of the true church
All those who believe in Jesus Christ make up the true church and are united together

With resurrection power, watch the Spirit do work!
Believers have access to the power of the Holy Spirit, which allows them to experience the transformation of spiritual rebirth

United with Christ, we reside in His light
Believers are united with Jesus Christ and have a shared identity in him, residing in his spiritual light

Abide in His might, keep in stride as we fight
Believers are encouraged to remain connected to Christ's power and strength as they engage in the spiritual battle of life

The pride in our life, the lies and the spite
The issues of pride, deceit, and malice within our own souls are challenges we face as believers

We strive to be wise as He guides through the night
With Jesus as our guide, believers work to become wise and discerning in navigating the often-difficult path of life

He'll chide and He'll slice- recognize that He's right
Jesus will sometimes rebuke and discipline believers to help them stay on the right path, and it is important to recognize this guidance as correct

His brightness inside lights our eyes and it's tight
The light of Jesus within us shines outward and illuminates our spiritual understanding

Jesus' decision to die on the cross served to cleanse our sins and wash us clean of the negativity and struggles we face in life

His life was the price to delight in His wife
Jesus gave his own life as a sacrifice so that those who believe in him can be with him for eternity

Jesus shocked the world by triumphing over death through his resurrection
