Shane Dawson was born with the name Shane Lee Yaw, but changed it to Dawson because casting directors wouldn't call him back because they thought he was Asian. He chose the name Dawson after Jack Dawson because his favorite movie is Titanic.
He joined YouTube on March 10, 2008 and is now the third most subscribed YouTuber with 2,175,513 subscribers.
Shane Dawson was born July 19, 1988 in Long Beach, California and moved to Los Angeles when he was 21.
As a teenager in high school, Shane was over-weight and got bullied a lot for that, and then lost 150 pounds on Jenny Craig. He worked for Jenny Craig with his mom and brother, but got fired along with his mom, brother and many other co-workers after he uploaded a video of himself pole dancing in the Jenny Craig building.
Dawson has 3 channels. His main channel where he uploads all his usual stuff. His second channel where every monday he uploads an Ask Shane and once a month Viewer Orgy Time. His third channel is called Shane, which is his iphone channel, where he uploads unedited videos from his iphone. On his main channel, he started a new series in October 2010 called "Shane and Friends", which is basically all his characters, (Shanaynay, Ned the Nerd, S Deezy, Aunt Hilda, Shane's mom, and Paris Hilton), and each character talks and does their own thing for a couple minutes.
Shane Dawson has announced in some of his videos that he is making a 30 minute pilot for a possible TV show called SD High, which is based on two of his videos, High School Drama and School Dance Disaster, it's going to be aired on his main YouTube channel, and could possibly be a TV show.
This Christmas Life
Shane Dawson Lyrics

I wouldn't have a care or worry
And everything would always turn out fine
Making angels in the snow
Kissing under mistletoe
And everyone would always have a smile
Sometimes it gets crazy
I'm falling on my knees
Yeah
I'm hoping for a happy ending
So let's stop pretending what life could be
There'll be dancing and singing
This Christmas life
And the bells will be ringing
This Christmas life
No more heartaches from heartbreaks
This Christmas life
Oh I wish it could be mine
If I lived up on the north pole
I would stare outside my window
And look around at all the shining lights
Christmas carols at the front door
Family at the dinner table
And every night would always end just right
But baby, life isn't that easy
Sometimes it gets crazy
I'm falling on my knees
Yeah
I'm hoping for a happy ending
So let's stop pretending what life could be
There'll be dancing and singing
This Christmas life
And the bells will be ringing
This Christmas life
No more heartaches from heartbreaks
This Christmas life
Oh I wish it could be mine
So I just close my eyes and
Create a wonderland where
Anything's possible there
I'm just dreaming of what it would be
There'll be dancing and singing
This Christmas life
And the bells will be ringing
This Christmas life
No more heartaches from heartbreaks
This Christmas life
Oh I wish it could be mine
There'll be dancing and singing
This Christmas life
And the bells will be ringing
This Christmas life
No more heartaches from heartbreaks
This Christmas life
Oh I wish it could be mine
The lyrics of "This Christmas Life" by Shane Dawson explore the idealization of Christmas as a perfect, joyful, and problem-free occasion. The song reflects on the common desire many people have to live in a world where everything is always merry and bright. The song portrays a world where life is akin to a fantasyland where everything always turns out right. The singer of the song yearns for a world where he would live like a character in an ideal Christmas movie, where he would not have any care or worry. He longs for a world where the snow is always perfect for making angels, Christmas carols and family gatherings, and every night ends just right.
However, the lyrics recognize that life can be difficult, and sometimes it gets crazy. The singer acknowledges that life is not always easy and that there are times when he falls on his knees. Despite this, he continues to hope for a happy ending, and he encourages others to stop pretending and realize that life is not always ideal. In the end, the singer concludes that he will close his eyes and create a wonderland where everything is possible, a place where he can fulfill his yearning for a perfect Christmas life.
