1)Shangri La is a Croatian rock band made in 2006. Altough they had several changes in their lineup, they are soon to record their first album on an indie label.
The recent lineup is as follows:
Lara - vocals
Jura - rythm guitar
Chof - solo guitar
Grinc - drums
Ritz - Bass
2) Shangri La is one of the most promising Bulgarian rock bands nowadays. It was originally created in 1992 (their name was "Sad Toy Killer") but in 2000, after the main vocalist moved to London, they decided to change the name of the band and start over. Inspired by the legend of heaven existing on earth, as described in the book "The Lost Horizon" (by James Hilton) they decide on the name "Shangri La".
The single "Iskah da te imam" rolled exclusively on "BG Radio" in June 2001 and within the following two months became one of the most aired songs on the radio. It entered the "Our 20" chart and stayed there for 10 whole weeks, two of which in the #1 spot. The band also won the prize "Discovery of BG Radio 2002" - the only category that the radio crew indulged to create and award based entirely on their own judgment and specifically for Shangri La.
The band's second single - "Kakto nikoga predi" has been on Bulgarian radios for two months now. It's premiere was in BNT's (Bulgarian National Television's) show - "Vsyaka nedelya". The clip is with an exceptionally atractive vision, including unique underwater shots and the band playing in the burned Theater of Youth. The video was done by the following crew: director Nickolay Penchev (well known for his work on the attractive basketball clip "Horata ot getoto"), cameraman Ivo Iliev, and the master of underwater shots Stefan Todorov.
In the meantime Shangri La were chosen to participate in the prestigious Romanian festival "The Golden Deer" in the resort town of Brashov. There, alongside 16 more performers from across the globe, including Scorpions, t.A.T.u. and The Kelly Family, they formed the face of this year's musical event in front of over 10 000 people live audience and over 30 million TV viewers.

"Shout" by The Shangri-La's is a song that speaks about the anger and frustration of youth. The song begins with the repetition of the titular word "shout" and a call to "let it all out". The lyrics talk about things in life that can be done without, such as selling one's soul and jumping for joy. The singer talks about the pressure put upon her by "one track minds" that took her for a "working boy" and how she shouldn't have to shout for joy. The second verse speaks about the coldness of the world, and how it gave life, but in return, life has given them hell - hence the line, "they gave you life, and in return, you gave them hell."
