After "I Love Your Smile", Shanice continued to record albums, including 1999's Shanice, produced chiefly by Babyface. While she has not achieved significant commercial success with her later albums, she is acknowledged as a talented singer and many of her songs appeared on various soundtracks. She also sings backup and does studio sessions and can be heard on Toni Braxton's song "Unbreak My Heart". She can also be heard making vocal contributions to various games. She is married to actor/comedian Flex Alexander, with whom she has two children.
Not a stranger to taking long gaps between albums and singles, "Every Woman Dreams" finally emerged in June of 2005. The single is currently doing moderately well, and Shanice is now signed to IME Records (which is distributed through Universal/Motown). After several pushbacks, her fifth studio album (titled Every Woman Dreams) will be released on February 21, 2006. The video for "Every Woman Dreams" was released in December 2005 and is in current rotation on music networks like BET, MTV and Vh1.

Before I sleep at night
I send to you, my silent prayer
Baby, so you'll be all right
Every moment a think of you
I just can shake up my dreams
I read the paper and watch the news
When you do what you got to do
You must know that I'm down with you
Every breath that I take
I hope and I pray sweet baby
Baby, we're okay
Silent prayer
[Chorus:]
Silent prayer (silent prayer)
Silent prayer (silent prayer)
Silent prayer (I send to you my silent prayer)
I hold a picture of a golden sunset
And I'll take you're hand (take my hand)
We're gonna walk down that promise road
Just like we planned (just like we planned)
Cause I know what I'm gonna do
Just as soon as I'm back with you
Every breath that I take,
I hope and I pray sweet baby
Baby, we're okkay
Silent prayer
[Chorus:]
I send to you my silent prayer
I send to you my silent prayer
I send to you my silent (baby) prayer (every hour)
My silent prayer
[Chorus:]
The lyrics of Shanice & Johnny Gill's song Silent Prayer are about a couple who are separated by distance, but still love and care for each other. The singer of the song sends their partner a silent prayer every night before they sleep, hoping that their partner will be alright. Despite not being physically together, the singer thinks of their partner often and cannot stop dreaming about them. They try to keep up with the news, but cannot make sense of it because their thoughts are consumed with their love for their partner.

The singer holds a picture of a golden sunset as a symbol of hope and promise for their future together. They plan to walk down that promise road hand in hand with their partner as soon as they can be reunited. The song ends with the singer sending their silent prayer to their partner every hour, expressing their unwavering love and commitment.

Shanice is an absolute masterpiece/masterclass of a singer/songwriter/songstress!
Never really received the acknowledgment that she so humbly deserves because she didn't make music videos being half naked, nor featuring gaudy jewelry, and luxury automobiles!
She never sang songs about sitting on anyones face, nor dreams of versace!
This song is a musical poem of spiritual, harmonious, and soulful love!
1990s R&B is in a music class all by itself!
Johhny Gill's vocals are magnificent!
I remember this song back in the fall/winter of 1991 going into the spring of 1992!
Shanice; I will always
