I am the man who does it all
I am the man who sings it all
I am the man who has no talent at all
Yeah!
I am the man who knows it all
I am the man who does it all
I am the man who has no talent at all
Yeah!
I am the man who knows it all
I am the man who does it all
I am the man who sings it all
I am the man who has no talent at all
Yeah!
I am the man who knows it all
I am the man who does it all
I am the man who sings it all
I am the man who has no talent at all
Yeah!
I am the man who knows it all
I am the man who does it all
I am the man who sings it all
I am the man who has no talent at all
Yeah!
I am the man who knows it all
I am the man who does it all
I am the man who sings it all
I am the man who has no talent at all
Yeah!
The lyrics to Shawn Martin's song The Man seem to be a tongue-in-cheek self-deprecating commentary on the music industry where everyone thinks they are a star with exceptional talent. Martin pokes fun at the inflated egos and self-promotion by calling himself "the man" who knows, does, and sings it all, but then confesses that he has no talent at all. This could be interpreted as a commentary on the superficiality of the music industry where image and personality often count more than actual talent.
The repetition of the lines and the use of the word "yeah" at the end of each stanza emphasizes the absurdity of the situation and perhaps suggests that the singer is in on the joke. By claiming to be the man who knows it all, Martin may be poking fun at the pretentiousness of those who claim insider knowledge or expertise, while also acknowledging his own lack of knowledge or skill.
Overall, the lyrics to The Man are open to interpretation and could be seen as a critique of the music industry or a lighthearted self-parody by the artist.

This is a great video that was sooo eye-opening and inspirational. Although I've been playing a very long time and will never reach this level, I can still strive to be the best I can. And just think, Shaun has given all this info and his own videos for FREE.

I definitely remember Shaun Martin playing for Kim Burrell in 2000 and Tonex like 4 years later (god bless that mans heart). I used to rewind and watch that band groove he did on Kims track called "Anything". It was incredible lol
