Shawna & Lil Wayne Lyrics

Young Moula, baby
Hmm, Young Moula, baby

She says, do you have the time
To listen to me whine
She's askin' who's on the other line?
You diss me every time
I tell her, baby I'm a star
Shit, I'm above the stars
And now I done got so high
I done forgotten who you are

Uh-uh, oh wow, oh wow
Uh-uh, oh wow, oh wow
Uh-uh, oh woah, oh woah
Uh-huh, oh woah, oh woah

I tell her I'm in love with you
But I can't be with you
Tomorrow I'll be back
Up on the first flight
Right up out of town
Young Moula, baby
Hop back in my spaceship
Girl, I gotta drop your ass off
Last night, yeah, we was spaced
Girl, you love it
But, girl, I gotta take off
Looks like I'ma be here next week
So call your company and take off
And she say, "Wayne you ain't shit"
She got me all impatient
Cry me a river
I can hear my conscience while I sail off

Boy, you got a problem (a problem)
And you ain't foolin' no one but yourself
You're like a hot revolver (hot revolver)
But you ain't killin' no one but yourself
And Tunechi's gonna find someone to love
And you go by yourself, so all alone

I told her, I can be with her
But I can't be with her
As much as she'd like me to
She like me too much
That's the problem
Oh my God, then shorty be wylin'
And when I say I got to leave
You wouldn't believe
All of the things that she'll do
And all of the things
That she'll say to make me stay
And I be like, "Damn"
I'll be back someday
But she wanna go with me
To outer space
So we made love in the Milky Way
And then I sent her on her way

Boy, you got a problem (a problem)
And you ain't foolin' no one but yourself
You're like a hot revolver
But you ain't killin' no one but yourself

And Tunechi's gonna find someone to love
And you go by yourself, so all alone

Overall Meaning

In Shawna and Lil Wayne's song Revolver, a man is caught up in his own fame and success, forgetting the person he loves. The song begins with the woman asking if he has time to listen to her complaints- which are about his neglectful behavior towards her. He boasts about his own success and being a star, placing himself above everything and forgetting who she is. He even openly admits that he loves her but can't be with her too much because she likes him too much, and that's a problem. He describes all of the things she will say and do just to make him stay, but he knows he can't. In the end, he sends her on her way, comforted that she'll find someone to love eventually- someone who isn't like him, a hot revolver that's not killing anyone but himself.

The song Revolver describes a toxic relationship and how one partner can direct themselves towards their own success and forget the person they love. The singer remains very self-centered, leaving his lover behind as he travels the world, stating that she likes him too much, which is the problem for their relationship. He knows he can't spend too much time with her and yet prolongs their relationship, just to have a good time with her on short-lived moments. The metaphor of the "hot revolver" in the chorus is a tool to describe how someone can be dangerous to themselves but still radiate confidence and danger.
