El Dorado
Shaylen Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh, I′m El Dorado

Hell should be easy, after me
We both goin' anyway
You coming with me?
Now I′m rocking Prada, Hathaway
Let's get the tickets
Spilt them fifty fifty
So tell me if you're down, say it to my face
City of the gold, turn into a maze
Put the top down, I need more space
Yeah, I need more space

Oh, I′m El Dorado
Where I go you follow
We fight then we break up
We live for the make up
You swear that it′s just for the sake of it

'Cause no one′s gonna do you like me
Lock me up and throw away the key
You hate how much you love it, baby
I'm drippin′ in gold you know
I'm El Dorado
Where I go you follow
Oh, I′m El Dorado
You know I know we won't let goIntro]
Oh, I'm El Dorado
2]
I say hold up, hold up, hold up, hold up wait
Know I said I like you
But I really love the chase
But you know I stay a little out of reach
Because you can never get enough of me

Oh, I′m El Dorado
Where I go you follow
We fight then we break up
We live for the make up
You swear that it′s just for the sake of it

'Cause no one′s gonna do you like me
Lock me up and throw away the key
You hate how much you love it, baby
I'm drippin′ in gold you know
I'm El Dorado
Where I go you follow
Oh, I′m El Dorado
You know I know we won't let go

You know I know we won't let go
You know I know we won′t ...
′Cause no one's gonna do you like me
Lock me up and throw away the key
You hate how much you love it, baby
I′m drippin' in gold you know
I′m El Dorado
Where I go you follow

Oh, I'm El Dorado
You know I know we won′t let go

Overall Meaning

The song El Dorado by Shaylen is about feeling confident and successful, like the mythical city of gold, El Dorado. The singer compares herself to this city, saying that after she's gone, going to hell should be easy. She is confident in her abilities to lead and her partner will follow her wherever she goes. However, she acknowledges that their relationship is not perfect and they often fight, but they always make up because no one can do it like her. She also mentions that she likes to keep her partner on their toes and keep the chase going.

The chorus emphasizes the idea that no one can do it like her and her partner is willing to follow her regardless of their arguments. The bridge emphasizes that her partner also knows that they won't let go of each other because of their strong connection.

Overall, the song is a fun and empowering anthem that celebrates being confident in oneself and one's abilities in a relationship.

Danielle Dekker cadillac eldorado, a very nice car from the early fifties that were considered a pleasure to drive and a necessity for the up and coming American dreamer

The funny thing is El Dorado didn’t have any gold. The tribe that lived there traded for gold to use in ceremonies. At the end of the ceremony the gold would be dropped into a very deep lake. Everyone assumed the tribe was rich because gold was so valuable. The truth was they didn’t care about gold except for using it as a worthy sacrifice.
