After four years with the Hot Tamales, she decided she wanted more on a national level, through hard work and perseverance she would get there. Therefore, Shelly preformed at local venues in San Antonio to gain more exposure and stay in the public eye. Shelly caught the right eye. Manny Guerra of Manny Records, a well respected producer in the Tejano industry. Manny took an interest in the 5'1' red headed bombshell with a one of a kind boisterous raspy voice and made her a star with “Soy tu Amor.” Shelly Lares, aka “Little Miss Dynamite,” was born and became a household name.
As her career skyrocketed she toured all over the world and performed for Armed Forces Entertainment (AFE) in Japan, Guam, Korea and Alaska for the men and women of all branches of the military.
“It takes a true America warrior to embark and complete a 30 plus day adventure all over the world,” said Captain Trevor Garrett Pacific Rim Coordinator, AFE.
Shelly was relentless and because of this attitude she achieved numerous Tejano Music Awards such as: Female Vocalist of the Year, Female Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year and a nominee in the Domestic and Latin Grammy's.
Shelly not only sings Tejano, she is an aspiring country artist who had the pleasure to open for country stars such as Leann Rimes, Clay Walker, and Tracey Lawrence. She collaborated with country super star Vince Gill and recorded the album,” Shelly.”
Shelly is a strong believer in giving back to her community, therefore, she gives motivational speeches in elementary schools up to colleges on “The Importance of being a Successful Latina Woman in Today's Industry.”
Recently, Shelly's most admirable award was being inducted into the Tejano Music Hall of Fame in Alice, TX. She was the youngest to receive this recognition. So what’s next for Lil Miss Dynamite, “I feel like there is lots of room to grow in Tejano music, and I want to be around for it,” said Shelly.
With her new single “Maldito Corazon” and the launch of her new label, Shell Shock Records 3, Shelly is taking Tejano to a whole new level.
No Volveré

cuando quieras que esté yo contigo
no hayarás un recuerdo de mi
ni tendrás mas amores conmigo.
Yo te juro que no volveré
aunque me haga pedazos la vida
si una vez con locura te amé
No volveré
te lo juro por Dios que me mira.
Te lo digo llorando de rabia,
no volveré.
No pararé
hasta ver que mi llanto a formado
un arrollo de orgullo anegado
donde yo tu recuerdo ahogaré.
The lyrics to Shelly Lares's song "No Volvere" convey the strong resolve of a heartbroken lover who has decided to move on from a relationship that has ended. The opening verse talks about how the person she loved can't expect her to be there whenever they want, and they won't find any memories of her when they are far away. The second verse is a declaration that even though she loved them with all her heart once, she won't return to them because she has made up her mind to sever all ties.
The chorus repeats the resolve not to return, stating it as an oath to God himself. The emotion is palpable, and as the lyrics continue, it becomes clear that she is committed to the decision even if it causes her pain. The ending phrase talks about how she will keep crying until her tears form a stream, and she can drown her memories of them in it. The song is an affirmation of strength, and while it speaks of heartbreak, it also shows the power of determination and moving on.

Cuando lejos te encuentres de mi
When you are far away from me

When you want me to be with you
no hayarás un recuerdo de mi
You won't find a memory of me

Nor will you have any more loves with me.
Yo te juro que no volveré
I swear that I won't return
aunque me haga pedazos la vida
Even if it shatters my life
si una vez con locura te amé
If I once loved you with madness
ya de mi alma estarás despedido.
You will already be dismissed from my soul.
No volveré
I won't return
te lo juro por Dios que me mira.
I swear it by God watching over me.
Te lo digo llorando de rabia,
I tell you while crying with anger.
no volveré.
I won't return.
No pararé
I won't stop
hasta ver que mi llanto a formado
Until I see that my tears have formed
un arrollo de orgullo anegado
A stream of drowned pride
donde yo tu recuerdo ahogaré.
Where I will drown your memory.
