ShiGGa Shay was born in Singapore and lived at the East side of the little red dot until he was 7. He then moved to the West region of the country. He is the only child of the family and is a member of the Singapore Soka Association.
He embarked his journey into the world of Hip-Hop at the tender age of 9, with the likings of other artistes like Eminem, 2Pac, Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., and so on. Being young and adventurous, he was eager to explore the world of poetry.
ShiGGa Shay started rapping at the age of 10 and battled a fellow rapper when he was 12. That was the first victory that fueled his drive of making it big in the Music Industry. He has been performing at club showcases. He makes the best of whatever opportunity he receives.
Within the community he frequently participated in freestyle battles. When he was 11, he found some of his neighbours rapping on the corridors of his house. Being young & belligerent, he plucked up the courage to exhibit his extraordinary skill of rapping. The display instantly left others in awe and they knew that ShiGGa Shay’s talent was propitious.
He was once confronted by a couple of racist urchins and poked fun at for being a “Chink” rapping. Although that resulted in his morale hitting rock-bottom, he refused to give in, instead he used it as a motivation to succeed in the industry.
Not paying any attention to the hate he receives, he strives and improves everytime he gets on a beat. Being one of the most talented asian artistes in the game right now, he still keeps a low-head and will never be conceited. Living up to the lyrical demands, he clearly assimilates everything he learns from other veterans in the game.
Now I present to you, history in the making,
ShiGGa Shay !

living a lie
We ain't doin' what we love no
more, we do what we can survive
And when i put on my damn jacket
how am i suppose to be fly
Cause homie I really had it can't be
here livin' a lie
having a steering wheel
No direction but at least I know that I
still kept it real
Got my back against the wall while
my feet the concrete
Gotta 100 metaphors I can't split
cause i can't unspeak - I
Wanna do it but can I? They think
it's stupid so I try
To take it use it, put it all in my
music
In songs, and it's just crazy how
people leave my life
Leave me dangling on the edge like
they couldn't find a knife
Tried to explain but why am I always
misunderstood
I'm an emcee, no country music
Carrie Underwood
I hate to be alone I want a special girl
next to me
Don't wanna be at the Top to only
relate to my enemies
If we ain't got no souls, are we
nearing death?
And if I choose not to hear it does it
mean I'm deaf
Everybody know I'm ahead in my
head like a fitted
We're all alone, I'm just the 1st one
to admit it
(Hook):
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be lonely
I don't wanna be alone, I don't
wanna be lonely
I don't wanna be alone, alone, alone,
alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone, I don't
wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be, lonely
(Bridge):
Room full of people and still feel
alone
20 miss calls don't wanna pick up
my phone
How do I, fix somebody when I'm
broken inside
When I be, victimised in a blink of an
eye
I gave my heart away
I gave my heart away
I gave my heart away
I don't ever want it back pain too
much to pay
(2):
Feeling so lost with nobody to turn to
Imagine the only person you can
trust, is you
You do right nobody remembers
Do something wrong they never
forget
Tell me how it is that respect?
Nights I don't sleep, are nights I stay
up thinkin' about you
Surrounded by these people, and still
feel alone
I guess it's back to reality you were
never my own
(Hook):
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be lonely
I don't wanna be alone, I don't
wanna be lonely
I don't wanna be alone, alone, alone,
alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone, I don't
wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be alone
I don't wanna be, lonely
In ShiGGa Shay's song, "Lonely", the lyrics convey a feeling of isolation and loneliness that comes from existing in a society where people are no longer living their true passions and dreams but doing what they can to survive. The first verse shows how the singer feels trapped, with no sense of direction or control over their life, comparing it to driving without a steering wheel. They also express frustration at people leaving their life without explanation and feeling misunderstood as an artist. The second verse continues to convey the feeling of loneliness but shows how it worsens when the only person you can trust is yourself, and even then, any mistakes you make taint people's perception of you.
The hook repeats the line, "I don't wanna be alone, I don't wanna be lonely" to emphasize the feeling of disconnection the singer is experiencing. The bridge highlights how alone the singer feels despite being in a room full of people and receiving calls from others. And finally, the last verse shows how the singer tries to reach out to others but is met with little respect, adding to their deep-seated sense of loneliness.
Overall, the song conveys the emotional struggles that come with feeling isolated and misunderstood, and highlights the struggles of people who are trying to follow their dreams but faced with obstacles from societal norms.
