She now resides in Monaco and has recently sold her London apartment. Many of its furnishings were auctioned for charity. Two very popular 'Audiences With Shirley Bassey' have aired on British TV, the most recent being in March 2006.
In 2006, UK retailer Marks and Spencer hired Bassey for their Christmas advertising campaign, with Dame Shirley singing a cover of P!nk's 'Get the Party Started'.
In late 2009 Bassey released 'The Performance' her first studio album for two decades, which was released in a maelstrom of anticipation. Still popular well into one of the longest and most illustrious musical careers in British and indeed international history, Bassey is considered by Brits to be a national treasure.
No Regrets
Shirley Bassey Lyrics

No, we will have no regrets
As you leave, I can say
Love was king, but for only a day
No, no regrets
No, let there be no regrets
Why explain
Don't go away
Simply call it a day
Pleading moments we knew
I will set them apart
Ev'ry word, ev'ry sign
Will be burned in my heart
But no tears will be shed
There'll be no one to blame
Let it always be said
We attempted what came
No, no regrets
No, we will have no regrets
As you leave, I can say
Love was king, but for only a day
Life still goes on
Yes, even though love has gone
One last kiss
Shrug and sign
No Regrets even though it's goodbye
In Shirley Bassey's song No Regrets, the singer is bidding farewell to a lover, but they are determined to avoid any feelings of regret. She refuses to dwell on the past, instead opting to let go and move forward. The singer looks back on the love that they shared and acknowledges that although it was powerful and beautiful, it was fleeting, and they must accept that it is over. She sets aside the pleading moments and memories of their time together, cherishing them in her heart but refusing to shed tears or assign blame. The idea of "No Regrets" is to cherish the time that was spent with the loved one, without regretting that it has come to an end.
The song was written by Charles Dumont and Michel Vaucaire, with English lyrics by Hal David. The original version was titled "Non, je ne regrette rien," and was famously performed by Edith Piaf. Bassey's version of the song was released on her 1960s album "I've Got a Song for You". The album is known for Bassey's impressive vocal range and emotional delivery, and the song "No Regrets" is a standout track.

I am a great fan of Dame Shirley Bassey, and I am from the USA. I think she has a powerhouse of a voice and a great talent for exquisitely interpreting the right emotion for a song. I could never understand why she was never really appreciated over here, shrug, guess the majority of Americans do not appreciate this type of music. Often imitated but never, never could be replicated. She is one of a kind. This is 2020, COVID is kicking our behinds, and I am listening to her music to cheer me up, during this hopeless time.
