In 2002 he was nominated for the Tamuz Award of Israel's Best Male Artist, along with David D'Or, Arkadi Duchin, Yuval Gabay, and Yehuda Poliker,[2] but lost out to D'Or.
In 2006 Shabat released a CD which contains duets and is named Friends 2. It was his 9th solo album, and was made in the same style as the first Friends duets album from 2001.[1]
Shabat sang a duet with David D'Or on D'Or's CD, Kmo HaRuach ("Like the Wind"), which was released on March 27, 2006.[2][3]

le'orech hamas'a
im kol chalom, im kol mabat,
ima.
Mi et kuli otefet,
bechom she'lo nigmar
be'ahavah, bide'agah,
Rak techabkini
vetir'i mi yekarah li michulam
al tishtani li
al telchi li le'olam, le'olam.
Et haderech at yoda'at,
el halev she'ein lo sod
benafshi yadech noga'at
ve'otefet et hakol.
Mi et kulah notenet
bli tzel shel charatah
benishmatah elai k'rovah
ima yekarah.
Af pa'am lo nishbart
af pa'am lo to'ah
et hadim'a sheli mochah
ima.
Rak techabkini ...
Kmo shemesh at zorachat
vehara'a hofech letov
boi ima, kchi hapachad
vechabki oti karov.
Mi letzidi holechet...
The lyrics to Shlomi Shabat's song "Ima" are a touching tribute to a mother figure in the singer's life. The opening lines speak of someone walking alongside the singer on their journey, through all the dreams and visions that may come. The mention of "kol chalom, kol mabat" implies that this is someone who is supportive of the singer's goals and aspirations, and who is willing to accompany them through all of life's ups and downs.
The next section describes the singer feeling enveloped by this person, who is always present when things aren't yet finished, whether that be in times of love or anxiety. The use of the word "ima" throughout the chorus reinforces the idea that this person is like a mother to the singer, providing unconditional love and support.
The final verse discusses the singer's connection to this person's soul, which shines through in everything they do. The phrase "noga'at ve'otefet et hakol" suggests that this person's presence is both bright and warm, and that they have an impact on everything around them. The final lines of the chorus ask this person not to leave the singer, to never forget them or disappear, indicating that their relationship is one of great importance and significance.
Overall, "Ima" is a deeply personal and emotive song that speaks to the power of a motherly figure's love and support. It is a powerful reminder of the impact that someone can have on our lives, and the way in which they can shape who we are.
