Revenge
Shock Wave Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of "Revenge" by Shock Wave depict the intense emotions of hurt and anger that come with experiencing betrayal or injustice. The singer describes the pain as something that "opens holes and gouges undignified lines" and "reaches deeper than I ever thought it could." The pain is so intense that it "shakes the ground I barely crawled on" and causes physical manifestations like bleeding, scabbing, and infection.
But what stands out the most in the lyrics is the emphasis on the name of the pain. The singer declares that "it has a name and that name burns" and that "it carries a name." This could refer to the name of the person who caused the pain, the name of the emotion itself, or a symbolic name that represents the feeling of betrayal. Regardless, the repetition of this idea emphasizes the power that names and labels can have on our emotional experiences.
Overall, "Revenge" is a powerful and visceral portrayal of the pain and anger that can come with feeling wronged by someone else. It captures the intensity of these emotions through vivid and sometimes grotesque imagery, and the emphasis on the name of the pain adds an additional layer of meaning to the lyrics.

When it generates like this
When it creates a force that is utterly unstoppable and chaotic
when it opens holes and gouges undignified lines
When it tears apart anything in its path with no regard for the consequences
when it reaches deeper than I ever thought it could
When it penetrates to the very core and beyond, leaving nothing untouched
when it resounds like pealing bells
When it echoes like a call to arms, heralding the beginning of a crusade
when it shakes the ground I barely crawled on
When it shakes and rattles everything I thought I knew, leaving me feeling exposed and vulnerable
when it shocks when it seethes when it bleeds and scabs and rubs
When it electrifies, boils, wounds, and heals, leaving a permanent scar and reminder of past pain
when it's infected it has a name and that name burns
When it becomes contaminated and poisoned, branded with a label that sears with agony
it's more than a wound it carries a name
It's not just a physical injury, but a deep-seated emotional trauma that is impossible to ignore
when its raw when it's real when it breathes and lives
When it's unfiltered and authentic, pulsing with raw energy and vitality
it claws and rips and breaks
It tears into and shreds everything in its path, leaving a path of destruction behind
it has a name and that name burns for nothing.
It's branded with a label that symbolizes pain, yet it's for no reason at all

I see a lot of people saying how Shockwave was "defeated by a parachute". But when you re-watch it, you'll realise that Shockwave was distracted by a parachute, peppered by bullets from both a gang of humans with special weaponry and the Wreckers at the same time to the point where his eye practically falls out. And that doesn't kill him. It kills all the other cons in the area, but not Shockwave.
Then, Optimus flies in and rips off half of Shockwave's torso after shooting him in the spark chamber. THAT still isn't enough to kill him. It's only when Optimus finally rips his eye out that Shockwave goes down.
Now by these movies' standards, that is pretty damn durable. In fact I think Shockwave took the most punishment out of any Decepticon in any film (excluding the 1986 film)!
Compare that to Scorponok. He got punched in the face.

If that parachute hadn't fallen over his eye, imagine how much he would have fucked Optimus, the Wreckers, and the humans up...
Xanshen
Shockwave should have been the main villain instead of that asshole Sentinel. Ironhide wouldn't die, and the entire events of AOE wouldn't happen.
I AM A TRUCK
When I first saw the movie, I thought the Wreckers were gonna fight Shockwave. That would be so cool and awesome. But, Optimus soddenly swoop by and take the credit, AGAIN. But What you said is true. I don,t think that Shockwave was killed by a parachute. He was distracted by it getting stuck on his horns. Shockwave is a tough cookie as specially with his oversized pet.
Fenrir
I think Shockwave didn't actually diet. After Optimus riped his eye out, he still fired a shot that knocked of the tower. The trigger for shooting his weapon was controled by Shockwave himselve and not from the outside, like the reload trigger. After that, Optimus leaved him and you can clearly see him moving in the background. Sorry for my bad english.
Idk studios
Doesn't matter how he died he died 2 quickly and completely sucked thank god for the reboot

This is the perfect soundtrack for “something big’s coming” it fit very very well for shockwave
mobstercreep
except it wasn't very big because his screen time was shorter than the song

By something big , did you mean the Driller or a Predacon that a more accurate version of Shockwave made in “Transformers Prime”
shock Nwave
A simple composition yet so effective. Stands out from all the other tracks in the movie.
