At the age of 17, after making some demos, she approached several record companies. It was then that Canadian rapper K-Maro heard her and she was sent to Montreal to record a collaboration with him, the single 'Histoire de Luv'.
She returned there to record her own album, 'Mes Faintaisies' which was released in France at the end of October 2006. It has sold close to 400,000 copies to date, spawning the singles 'Femme de couleur', 'Victoire', 'T'es parti' and 'Oublie moi' and has been certified Platinum.
In 2008, she released her second album, 'Reflets'. The album has so far sold over 100,000 copies. 'La première fois' was the first single, followed by 'Si tu savais' and 'Step Back', which features Odessa Thornhill. This album was certified Gold.
She returned in 2010 with her third album, 'Prendre l'air'. The first single " Je sais" was released in March 2010 and reached number 3 on the French download charts. The second single is " Je suis moi", which was followed by the third single 'Prendre l'air'. 'Tourne' was released as the fourth single with a cover of Calogero's 'En Apesanteur' becoming the fifth single used to promote the deluxe edition of the album. To date, this album has been certified Platinum.
2012 saw the release of her fourth album 'Caméléon' which reached number one in the French charts, along with the first single 'Et Alors !'. The second single released was 'On se fout de nous'.

Les clips de Shy'm sont toujours très soignés...elle a un univers musical fort et ses chansons veulent vraiment dire quelque chose. On sent aussi qu'elle a un super entourage musical (un peu comme Jennifer!).

Je suis un homme de 55 ans le 12 05 2015 , je suis un grand fan de Shy’M trop belle , cette femme est vraiment une vraie chanteuse . Shy’M je t aime , tu as une superbe vois , en plus tu es vraiment très belle . Les gens qui critique ne sont que des cons ! Ne lie même pas leurs critiques , ils sont jaloux . Moi j adors ! Je suis même a la recherche de tout tes albums ! Bises continue comme ça !!!!!!!!!!!
