In 2000, Sia signed to Sony Music's sub-label Dance Pool and released her second studio album, Healing Is Difficult, the following year. Displeased with the promotion of the record, she signed to Go! Beat and released her third studio album, Colour the Small One, in 2004. The project struggled to connect with a mainstream audience, and so Sia relocated to New York City in 2005 and began touring across the United States. She released her fourth and fifth studio releases, Some People Have Real Problems and We Are Born, in 2008 and 2010, respectively. She then took a hiatus from performing, during which she focused on songwriting for other artists. Her catalogue includes the successful collaborations "Titanium" (with David Guetta), "Diamonds" (with Rihanna) and "Wild Ones" (with Flo Rida).
In 2014, Sia released her sixth studio album 1000 Forms of Fear, which debuted at No 1 in the U.S. Billboard 200 and generated the top-ten breakthrough single "Chandelier" and a trilogy of music videos starring child dancer Maddie Ziegler. In 2016, she released her seventh studio album This Is Acting, which spawned her first Hot 100 number one single, "Cheap Thrills". The same year, Sia gave her Nostalgic for the Present Tour, which incorporated performance art elements. Sia has received an array of accolades, including ARIA Awards and an MTV Video Music Award.

Do you think I'm stupid?
Do you think I'm bat shit crazy, having you on my mind
Do you think I'm helpless?
My algebra gon' equal you every time
Do you think I'm calling?
Do you think I'm calling out your name every night
What, what you say?
Oh my god, baby baby don't you see-e-e
I got everythin' you ne-e-ed
O-only a genius could love a woman like she
Oh my god, baby baby don't you see-e-e

Sia
Oh!
You'll be my Einstein, my Newton, my Galileo, and my Hawking
Boy, put that pep in my step
Put your arm on my neck while I'm walking
Please understand, I have fallen for you, you
What, what you say?
Oh my god, baby baby don't you see-e-e
I got everythin' you ne-e-ed
O-only a genius could love a woman like me
Sayin' oh my god, baby baby don't you see-e-e
I got everything you ne-e-ed
O-o-only a genius could love a woman like me
I'm a ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-genius
A ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-genius
A ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-genius
He's a genius
'Cause I love a woman like you
I'm a ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-genius
A ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-genius
A ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-ge-genius
He's a genius
'Cause I love a woman like you
Oh my god
Dot the I's and cross the T's
I got everything you ne-e-ed
Well, only a genius could love a woman like me
Oh my god
You're the lock and I'm the key-e-e
I got everything you ne-e-ed
Well, only a genius could love a woman like me
Oh, oh
'Cause I love a woman like you
He's a genius
'Cause I love a woman like you
The song "Genius" is a collaboration between English music artist, Labrinth, and Australian singer-songwriter, Sia, featuring Diplo. The song is about two people who have fallen deeply in love with each other, and they both believe that only a genius could love someone like them. They express their feelings towards each other by questioning whether they're being stupid, insane or helpless, and comparing their feelings to algebra, which always equals the other person.
The chorus of the song consists of the singers admitting that they've fallen deeply in love with each other and declaring that only a genius could love someone like them. The lyrics "O-only a genius could love a woman like she/ me" show that they both believe there's something special about their connection that only a genius could understand. Sia sings that the guy is her Einstein, Newton, Galileo, and Hawking, acknowledging his intelligence and comparing his love for her to the scientific legends. The final verse of the song shows that their love is mutual and that the guy is her lock while she's his key, meaning that they complete each other.
Overall, "Genius" is a song about two people who have found each other and fell deeply in love. They both admit that their feelings can only be understood by geniuses, and they are grateful for finding each other.
