Virtual Vain
Sianvar Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Idealism is changing and what's important's really not.
Fuck what I'm saying.
The masses are busy getting off.
Fed illusion.
Real delusion.
Go, reveal yourself to me.
I can read everything you say.
Bold statement with photographs.
Thousands of eyes can trace.
Words aiding the pictograph.
Written on walls in space.
Who killed the culprit?
Who shot him down?
I felt everything around me move.
The time it took to get away...
Tensions are building inside of the vacant warehouse.
Idealism is changing and what's important's really not.
Fuck what what I'm saying the masses are busy getting off.
Damaged ego broken stitches nothing gold can stay.
Bring to life your name.
Damaged stitches broken ego nothing gold can stay.
Bring to life your name.

What you show: do we all care about it?
Image: we only show what we want you to see.
I'm just as guilty as wanting to change such plain reality.
It's not what you will see.
Interactions will cease.

Tensions are building inside of the vacant warehouse.
The opening lines of Sianvar's "Virtual Vain" set the stage for an unsettling exploration of the ways in which technology and social media have altered our sense of reality and our interactions with others. The vacant warehouse represents a kind of liminal space, a no-man's land where the boundaries between the physical and virtual worlds are blurred. Idealism, the belief in something greater and more meaningful than our individual selves, is changing, perhaps even fading away, as we become more and more absorbed in the online world. The fact that tensions are building inside the warehouse suggests that this shift is not without its consequences, and that there may be something dangerous or destructive about this new way of being.
The singer's tone throughout the song is one of ambivalence and criticism. They are aware of the appeal of social media, the way it feeds into our desire for attention and validation, and the sense of control it seems to promise over our lives. But they are also aware of the way it can distort our perceptions, the way it can create illusions of connection and communication that are ultimately shallow and hollow. The line "the masses are busy getting off" captures this sense of frivolity and self-indulgence, the idea that we are all chasing after something that ultimately does not matter. The use of "Fuck what I'm saying" also suggests a certain cynicism, a recognition that our words and opinions have become increasingly irrelevant in a world where images and attention are the currency of social capital.

One of the very rare male singers who can reach notes only females can reach. This is not an insult, these kinds of singers are really cool to me.

"rare" bruh you ever heard of falsetto?
Brianna
tylerkeeling96 Anyone can hit high notes via falsetto. To have just a generally high-pitched head voice like this guys is rare.

Check out circa survive, Anthony Green is insane. Also Dance Gavin Dance's current vocalist Tilian Pearson has some pipes! His stuff with Tides of Man is great as well. Sianvar's vocalist is Donovan Melero, his full time band Hail the Sun is great, his vocals shine just as well I'd say.
Nick B
tylerkeeling96 this is not falsetto as its Donny’s natural tone.

sick lineup. Makes me care about music like this again...it kinda reminds me of the volta with a little more melody. Impressed that its not a copy of any of these guys' respective bands. Each member brings a lot to the table. bravo

This is much more pleasing to my ears than much popular music. Does it not seem more thought-out and complicated? The lyrics are deeper, the melodies so moving with a mix of high energy to low, and the creation of these works are still seen by few of the world's population? Classical music has this same flow and process in many ways. This seems to be a branch between classical and the underground scene of post-harcore/math rock/jazz. I wish to help pass this music to the future generations. There is so much fucking potential.
