She is also trained as an opera singer and brought that vibe to these recordings. On one of the tracks on the album she switched from vocals to violin; the result sounded celtic. It is what the Afro Celt Sound System would sound like if they were invited to play at Buckingham Palace.
Plea From Africa
Sibongile Khumalo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
'Neath the burning sun
There at hosts of weary hearts
Waiting to be won
Many lives have passed away
And in many homes
There are voices crying out
Tell the love of Jesus
By the hills and waters
God bless Africa
And her sons and daughters
Breathe a prayer for Africa
God the father's love
Can reach down and bless all hearts
From his heav'n above
Oh the lips when moved by Grace
They so sweetly sing
Pray for peace in Africa
To the loving God
Tell the love of Jesus
By the hills and waters
God bless Africa
And her sons and daughters
The lyrics of Sibongile Khumalo's song 'Plea From Africa' is a call to action for people to think about Africa and its many struggles. The first verse speaks of the many weary hearts waiting to be won under the burning sun. The second verse speaks of the cries of many voices who call out to the living God in their homes. The chorus calls for the telling of the love of Jesus and for God to bless Africa and her sons and daughters.
The third verse urges listeners to breathe a prayer for Africa, calling on God the father's love to reach down and bless all hearts from his heaven above. The final verse describes the power of voices moved by grace to sing sweetly, as they pray for peace in Africa to the loving God. Through each verse, the song seeks to bring attention to the pain and suffering felt by African people and to call on all to spread the message of love and hope.

I still say this should be South Africa anthem
@boitumelokhantsi4166
This should be our national anthem. The the current anthem is a compromised hybrid that walk around egg shells to accommodate those who donβt see themselves as African yet want to lord it over all of us. Nkosi sikelela hybrid should go. Rainbow nation honeymoon is over .

This is to me the best rendition of this song by far. By one of the best musicians we ever had but death took her away from us so early and possible at the height of her career. So sad.
