Silber were to release their debut album with Sony records in 2002. But a major reshuffle at the company saw Silber pull out of the contract not long before the album was to be released. It was to be well over a year before Silber were able to find a suitable record company in Neue Zeiten. So in 2003 Silber released their long awaited and much delayed debut album. The album had a number of changes to the one to be released with Sony. The album coverart was chaged from this to this and three songs were dropped, they were "Ende Schwarze Traüme', 'Niemand ist sicher' and 'Kalt Wie Eis' the later of which you can download from the media section of this site. The first self titled cd set Silber a platform on which to launch themselves into the Deutsche Musik world. Many were blown away by the clever mood touching music created by this group of talented bunch of musicians. With the lessons learnt from the first cd, Silber knew the direection they wanted to take for the next cd.
In late 2004 Silber broke off with their record label shortly before the new album was completed. Over a year was spent searching for a new record label. What made it even more frustrating was the fact that the album was complete and ready to go. In May 2006 Silber announced to the world that they had resolved this issue by creating their own record label connectedways.records. The new cd was named 'Hier und Jetzt' and was given a release date of 25th August 2006, exactly 3 years after their debut album was released.

Silber Lyrics

in Verbannung wird verenden
ungelebt
Ist die Hoffnung eng verschlungen
Oder zeigt sie, dass sie lebt
Das Warten
auf ein Wunder ohne Sinn
Sind die Gipfel noch zu hoch
Sie zu nehmen
fordert Mut von dir
Denn ein reißender Strom ist grenzenlos
Hast du dein Herz gefragt
Hast du alles getan
was dein Innerstes
von dir verlangt
Schreit dein Herz nach Liebe
Schreit die Liebe nach Feuer
Hast dein Herz gefragt
Hast du alles getan
Ergreife den Moment,
der gewaltig fühlen lässt
Die Gedanken stehen still,
wenn ein Fluss in seine Richtung fließt
Ist es Lüge dann schwöre
im Innern dass du s fallen lässt
Ist es Wahrheit dann lebe dies Gefühl
bevor es dich verlässt
Denn ein reißender Strom ist grenzenlos
Hast du dein Herz gefragt ...
Den Fluss des Stroms zu ändern
es ist nicht das Gebot
Sein Fließen zu erkennen
Nur zu leben
Willst du weiter
mit den Wölfen heulen,
bis das Rückgrat bricht
Ein Sklave der Gedanken
wenn das Herz nicht spricht
Ein Strom fließt grenzenlos
Hast du dein Herz gefragt ...
The first stanza of Silber's song "Grenzenlos" expresses the idea of a thought being relegated to exile, leading to its eventual demise, unfulfilled. The hope that is tightly intertwined with this thought is either concealed or evidence of this thought's vitality. The next stanza talks about the excruciating wait for a miracle that is meaningless, creating agony within. The peaks seem insurmountable, but taking them requires courage. The thought of a tumultuous river that has no borders is a metaphor for something powerful that can overcome any obstacle.
The chorus urges the listener to ask themselves whether they have asked their heart everything it needs; have they done everything it demanded of you? If love calls out to you, and you can't resist the pull of passion, have you interrogated your heart? Have you done everything required? The next part of the song urges the listener to grab the moment that allows them to feel a new rush, to let calmness caress the oppressive thoughts of the past.
The last stanza of the song makes clear the concept of understanding and accepting the flow of life as it is and not trying to change its course. It is essential to recognize its flow and live it to the fullest. The wolf metaphor is used to exemplify how weighed down we can become with our thoughts and not allow our hearts to dictate our beliefs. In summary, the song is about searching deep inside oneself and recognizing the things required to live a fulfilled existence.
