Silence of September is a new face on the great international rock-scene. With their massive sonic landscapes and energy bursts, one cannot help, but being sucked in. The debut-album, "Sleep of Reason", was released February 4th 2010, with the gigantic Warner Music as distributor. And this was only after a handful of concerts.
After several replacements, founders Niko (lead vocals/guitars/keys) and Mirza (guitars/backing vocals) finally managed to ensemble the strong line up that is to be found today. Niko, Mirza, Kim and Frederik together give life to a sound that is addictive, powerful and undeniably gripping. Silence of September are being compared to acts like Linkin Park, Deftones and 30 Seconds to Mars and the album has also been appointed to one of the best albums to come out of Denmark in several years.
"...you'll have to be deaf to not appreciate the great melodies found in songs like "Make A Scene", "I Have A Dream" and many others on the record...". (Rockfreaks.net)
"...an album that has exceeded all expectations the scene could possibly have had for these guys...". (Rockfreaks.net)
"...most of the songs work with fine arrangements and well-written choruses. There are promising aspects within this debut...". (Gaffa.dk)
Early September 2011, after two national tours (donating all the profits to charity), radio airplay, two self-made music-videos and many gigs later, “Sleep of Reason” was released worldwide (instead of Scandinavia) through Warner Music, once again proving Silence of September to be one of the hardest working bands on the up and coming scene. In the true spirit of “DIY”, this band has done everything from press-photos to homepages themselves. And if that wasn’t enough, the band has meanwhile worked on a “follow up” to their debut. Still untitled, the follow up is set to be released sometime in the second half of 2012. The musical goals have always been big and ambitious, and the single song itself has constantly been a point of focus, that has driven this extremely hardworking band forward. The motto "...there is no such thing as luck, only hard work...", has been the bands "mantra" since the very beginning.
The mix of the American sounding hard rock and modern "electro-sound" defines the strong and well composed rock hymns of this band. If you haven’t already; put on “Sleep of Reason”, crank up the volume, close your eyes and let yourself fall back into the world of “Silence of September”…

I see that every single lie you say
Is just another wall that hides the truth
You've got nothing left to offer but to lie and make us suffer
Why don't you just stand by your word
Break that pattern, at least for one day
Make it matter, I will not forget
Make me believe you, and stay awake
And now I dreamed one night that I would wake up in a world with no hate at all
But every time we rise, it seems like we always have to fall
Somebody once said that freedom is the moment you can look yourself in the eyes
But what's the point of freedom when all that you see are lies?
I see your shadow on the wall
I see it beg, I see it crawl with every piece of the truth that you share
So when you ask for forgiveness, I know that you will
I'll ask you to do just one thing
Break that pattern, at least for one day
Make it matter, I will not forget
Show me you mean it, with every bone that you break
Make me believe you, and stay awake
And now I dreamed one night that I would wake up in a world with no hate at all
But every time we rise, it seems like we always have to fall
Somebody once said that freedom is the moment you can look yourself in the eyes
But what's the point of freedom when all that you see are lies?
Stop looking at me like I'm a freak
Cause I bend and break, when I'm weak
I cannot see through this misery the things you do are killing me
Run (run), hide (hide),
Cause you life is just a lie
And now I dreamed one night that I would wake up in a world with no hate at all
But every time we rise, it seems like we always have to fall
Somebody once said that freedom is the moment you can look yourself in the eyes
But what's the point of freedom when all that you see are lies?
And now I dreamed one night that I would wake up in a world with no hate at all
But every time we rise, it seems like we always have to fall
Somebody once said that freedom is the moment you can look yourself in the eyes
But what's the point of freedom when all that you see are lies?
The lyrics of the song "I Have a Dream" by Silence of September speaks about the frustration and disappointment the singer feels towards someone who constantly lies to them. The lyrics compare lies to a wall that hides the truth and prevents any real progress or connection from being made. The singer urges the person to break the pattern of lying, even if just for one day, to make a real impact and prove their sincerity.
The song also touches on the theme of hope for a better future. The singer dreams of a world without hate, but every time progress is made, it seems to be followed by a fall. They question the point of freedom when all they can see are lies and disappointment. The final lines of the song are particularly powerful, as the singer pleads with the person to stop looking at them like they are a freak and to see the harm their lies are causing.
Overall, the lyrics of "I Have a Dream" are poignant and reflective of the emotional turmoil caused by dishonesty and betrayal. The song is a call to action to break the patterns of deceit and strive for a better tomorrow.
