Na cara do fraco
Estrangeiro gozador
Cocar de coqueiro baixo
Quando engano se enganou
São dim, dão, dão
São Bento
Martelo do tribunal
Sumiu na mata adentro
Foi pego sem documento
No terreiro regional
Uera rá rá rá
Uera rá rá rá
Terça-feira
Capoeira rá rá rá
'To no pé de onde der
Rá rá rá rá
Verdadeiro rá rá rá
Derradeiro rá rá rá
Não me impede de cantar
Rá rá rá rá
'To no pé de onde der
Rá rá rá rá
Bimba birimba a mim que diga
Taco de arame, cabaça, barriga
São dim, dão, dão
São Bento
Grande homem de movimento
Nunca foi um marginal
Sumiu na praça a tempo
Caminhando contra o vento
Sobre a prata capital
Uera rá rá rá
Uera rá rá rá
Terça-feira
Capoeira rá rá rá
'To no pé de onde der
Rá rá rá rá
Verdadeiro rá rá rá
Derradeiro rá rá rá
Não me impede de cantar
Rá rá rá rá
'To no pé de onde der
Rá rá rá rá
Quero ouvir
Uera rá rá rá

The lyrics of Silva's song "Meia Lua Inteira" depict a scene of confrontation and resistance against oppression. The singer refers to a "Meia Lua inteira sopapo," which can be translated as a powerful strike using Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art. This strike is directed "na cara do fraco," or against the weak, and is aimed at a "estrangeiro gozador," or mocking outsider. The line "Cocar de coqueiro baixo, quando engano se enganou" suggests that the outsider misjudged the situation and underestimated the power and strength of the locals.
The song also mentions "São Bento," a figure associated with Capoeira and movement. The line "Grande homem de movimento, Martelo do tribunal" portrays São Bento as a strong and influential person, perhaps representing the collective strength of the community. However, he was caught without proper documentation, symbolizing the challenges faced by marginalized individuals.
The repetition of "Uera rá rá rá" and "Rá rá rá rá" throughout the song adds an energetic rhythm and serves as a call to action. The lyrics emphasize that despite any obstacles, the singer remains determined to sing and resist. The phrase "'To no pé de onde der" signifies a readiness to fight and stand one's ground, no matter the circumstances.
Overall, "Meia Lua Inteira" portrays themes of resistance, strength, and unity in the face of oppression.
