Aftermath
Silver Seraph Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Aftermath

We are the children, the children of Rome
Power and glory will conquer us all
We stay together when we're far from home
High flying banners of blood

Breaking metal and swords made of steel
Fighting and killing for the holy seal
Terror and vengeance is coming my way
You'd better all start to pray

Seven seas and we've sailed through them all
Just to flight, see the light
Seven seas and we've sailed through them all
Fight and conquer

Aftermath

The victories won and the evil is slayed
The women and children were o so afraid
Singing a warriors song

Seven seas and we've sailed through them all
Just to flight, see the light
Seven seas and we've sailed through them all
Fight and conquer

We are the children, the children of Rome
Power and glory will conquer us all

We stay together when we're far from home
High flying banners of blood.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Aftermath" by Silver Seraph bear witness to a time of wars and conquests in ancient Rome. The song opens with the confident assertion that "Power and glory will conquer us all" and positions the singer as one of "the children of Rome" who has gone through many battles and conquered territories far from home. The imagery of "high flying banners of blood" underscores the price at which the victories have been accomplished.

The middle section of the song brings a more graphic depiction of the actual battle scenes, with "breaking metal and swords made of steel" and "fighting and killing for the holy seal". The mood is ominous and tense, as the singer warns that "terror and vengeance is coming my way" and urges listeners to pray. However, the mood shifts towards the end, as the singer describes the aftermath of the battles, where the "victories won and the evil is slayed" and the "women and children were o so afraid". The emotion is tempered with a sense of pride and triumph, as the singer proclaims that "Seven seas and we've sailed through them all / Just to flight, see the light / Fight and conquer".

Overall, "Aftermath" is a song that celebrates the valor and heroism of ancient warriors, while also acknowledging the cost and brutality of warfare. The lyrics are rich in vivid imagery and convey a sense of historical epicness, evoking the grandeur and gravity of ancient Rome.

Very great tune! I can't understand why this band didn't stand out..

Lewis's Hard Rock & Heavy Metal Essentials

Because people don't appreciate music, only mindless trends. Pretty much every song on my channel should have more views than queen, Iron maiden etc. They're much catchier or emotional than any popular rock song.
