Ready For Love
Silverado Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I hope you never change your mind
Cause it's time
Real

You know I will always be around
If you doubt
And even if you move uptown
And I'm ready for love
Just like the last time baby
Ready for love

I've seen the stars in your eyes
Heard your lies
While she's sleeping

I guess we had our ups and downs
Turn around
Hey baby, you're the best I've found

And I'm ready for love
Just like the last time baby
Ready for love

Ready for love
Yes I'm ready for love

Ready for love
Like the first time
Ready for live
Just like the first time

Ready for love

Ready for love
Ready for love

JUST AS GOOD AS GOLD! Thank you so very much for posting and sharing this "lost and VERY rarely heard anymore" lil' gem, that peaked at #92 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for Silverado back on the week of July 11, 1981...I thoroughly enjoyed listening...and the sound quality was FIRST-RATE too! Take Care! Ms. Elizabeth💿📻🎵📟💿📟🎵📻

Hey guys, I was in Silverado and am very happy to see this posted. Brings back great memories. Thanks!!

You guys were great, I don't know how you didn't make it big with these great songs! I saw you open for John Kay & Steppenwolf at the Brandywine Club in Chadds Ford, PA. around 1981 and it was a great show! Any memories from touring with them?

Jeff Keithline

@Les Schoenberger Hi Les, It was a long time ago! Thank You for your kind words! We did the best we could. John Kay was a gracious and generous man. He and the band made us feel welcome and we had a great time. The audiences for the tour - obviously they mostly came to see Steppenwolf - received us pretty well, with one notable exception in Rochester NY. It was a big outdoor show and there was a sizable biker contingent. They wanted their Steppenwolf and not us!! There was some throwing of objects etc so we changed up mid-set and played some covers - Byrds, Beatles, Kinks, a couple more...including Born To Be Wild (which got a big reaction - positive from the crowd, negative from John Kay, but he forgave us). All in all it was a a memorable tour!! Thanks for jogging my memory Les - All The Best!!

@Jeff Keithline Thanks for the great background stories! They shouldn't have turned on you guys like that, you guys were great! I remember my friend who was at the show went out and bought your album right after that! He and I still can't figure out how you guys never made it big, you had some really great songs. I guess it needs to be the right place right time, or who you know, I don't know....even Kay couldn't get any major labels to sign him in the 80's even after all of his earlier success!

Thanks again, please stay well and God Bless!!!

They should re release this song today, I bet it would be a hit. I can't understand why it wasn't back then, such good lyrics and vocals and mixed really well.
