The band split up in 2005 with James Ford and Shaw forming the splinter group Simian Mobile Disco. The new group is more dance oriented and are in demand as remixers and Djs. In 2006, "We Are Your Friends", a remix of their song "Never Be Alone" was released on a reactivated Virgin label called Ten Records. This single was credited to "Justice vs. Simian" and started life as a submission by the French electro outfit Justice in a remix competition. The video for the single controversially won the award for best video at the MTV Europe video Awards 2006, and fellow nominee Kanye West appeared on stage to complain at their victory, claiming that the prize should have gone to him.
End of the day
Simian Lyrics

But at the end of the day it's the words
You say to me, to me
Maybe you will fly me to the stars
But when we fall back down what
Will you ask of me, of me
When you find it
And don't you let go 'til its there
Then come alive
And walk around in a new place
To call your own
Maybe you will end my mortal
Days but when we meet again
Will you recognize my face, my face
Maybe you will wipe my memory clean
But will you be the one who shows me
How to see, to see
When you find it
Close your eyes
And don't you let go 'til its there
Then come alive
And walk around in a new place
To call your own
When you find it
Close your eyes
And don't you let go 'til its there
Then come alive
And walk around in a new place
To call your own
The song "End of the Day" by Simian is a contemplative track that revolves around the idea of the inevitable end. The lyrics convey a sense of vulnerability and uncertainty as the singer questions what the future holds for them. The opening lines, "Maybe you'll destroy all that I've made, but at the end of the day it's the words you say to me," suggest that whatever happens, ultimately, what matters are the words spoken between them. The words have the power to either uplift or devastate the singer. The lyrics also pose an existential question about the nature of human existence and whether it really matters in the grand scheme of things.
Further on, the lyrics explore the themes of journey and discovery. The lines "When you find it, close your eyes and don't you let go 'til it's there," urge the listener to embrace their journey and stay committed until they reach their destination. The song also touches on the idea of memory and how it shapes one's identity. The lines "Maybe you will wipe my memory clean, but will you be the one who shows me how to see," suggest that although one's memory might be erased, the experiences and people in our lives play an essential role in shaping who we are.
Overall, "End of the Day" is a thought-provoking song that encourages the listener to reflect on their life's journey and find solace in the moments of uncertainty and doubt.

The words you say to me are what counts

But what will happen when we come back to earth?
Will you ask of me, of me

When you find it
When you discover it
Close your eyes
Close your eyes
And don't you let go 'til its there
And hold on until you've found what you're looking for
Then come alive
Then wake up
And walk around in a new place
And explore a new environment
To call your own
To claim as your own
Maybe you will end my mortal
Maybe you will put an end to my life
Days but when we meet again
But when we reunite
Will you recognize my face, my face

But will you be the one who shows me
But will you be the one to teach me
How to see, to see
How to truly see
When you find it
When you discover it
Close your eyes

And hold on until you've found what you're looking for
Then come alive
