I saw Paul Simon in concert about 15 years ago and (at 24). It was in Manhattan but I forget the exact venue. Wasn't Hammerstein.

I was the youngest person in the audience. I was asked by a good dozen folks how I knew so many songs. I proudly replied, simply, "Mom and Dad." Many approving nods followed, with a few "Where are they?"

"Home and jealous as Hell!"

Rode on a bus over the 59th Street Bridge while visiting my sisters who still live in New York. My daughter (29) and two grand-daughters (5 and 9 years old) was with me. I played this song for them. I tried to make them understand how I loved this song and what it meant to me and so many people of my generation.

I remember back in 72 as a five year old my brother and sister singing this song in Chior. Forty five years later as my brother was hospitalized and near death my sister sang the song to him again. Some things just stick to you you know.

My grandfather used to play this song for me almost every time I visited during my childhood. The upbeat, relaxing tone is him personified.

Though dementia may have stolen his memories, his musical inclination never faded. Just 2 weeks ago my aunty filmed him playing the harmonica. Last month, he was singing along to Andre Rieu.

My grandfather passed away last Friday, November 17th 2023. There’s no doubt in my mind that he’s up there listening to Feelin’ Groovy, whistling along.

I dedicate this song to him.

Found this song in the worst of times. I rollerskate and recently got badly injured. I was having breakdowns and was so upset because I can’t skate and started getting more sad as time passed and heard this song and made me realize…. I pushed myself too hard. I was trying to skate all the time and I was just going too fast. It also made me realize that I’ve put a lot of priorities off because of skating as well and I just need to slow down and enjoy life and take care of things that matter everything else. This song is amazing.

I learnt to fingerpick listening to early Paul Simon's guitar and songs. Many years before Youtube it took me months to learn to pick this song. Forty odd years later my fingers just love playing it and, simple as it is once you know it, it always wows a listener. Cobblestones were common when I was a kid in England, as were Victorian lampposts. When I finally got to New York and the 59t Street bridge I was astonished and appalled - not a cobble or lamppost in sight!! Ho hum, at least Bleeker Street is real!

Good for you. Hopefully they were before your time & now you’re getting into it. I was at that concert in Central Park nearly 40 yrs ago(9/18/81). Was a magical night. I was about 30 rows from the stages& distinctly remember Paul sneering singing ’feelin groovy’ that night. He was a little full of himself I guess.

Once, while listening to this song in a stereo system, I decided to play with its controls. There was a slide button that allowed the user to switch the sound between left and right channels (middle position meant balance). Then, I positioned it so that only the right channel was active.Although the voices are the same in both channels, the instruments differ: Guitar on the left, bass and drums on the right.Curiously, the song worked perfectly fine with bass and drums only. Very cool, I would say.
