Blues Run the Game
Simon & Garfunkel Lyrics

Catch a boat to England, baby,
Maybe to Spain
Wherever I have gone,
Wherever I've been and gone
Wherever I have gone
The blues run the game
Send out for whiskey, baby,
Send out for gin
Me and room service, honey
Me and room service, babe
Me and room service, whoa
Living life a sin
When I ain't drinking, baby
You are on my mind
When I ain't sleeping, honey
When I ain't sleeping, momma
When I ain't sleeping, whoa
You know you'll find me crying
Catch a boat to England, baby,
Maybe to Spain
Wherever I have gone,
Wherever I've been and gone
Wherever I have gone
The blues run the game
Living is a gamble, baby
Loving's much the same
Wherever I have played
Wherever I throw those dice
Wherever I have played
The blues run the game
Maybe when I'm older, baby
Someplace down the line
I'll wake up older
So much older, momma
Wake up older
And I'll just stop all my trying
Catch a boat to England, baby,
Maybe to Spain
Wherever I have gone,
Wherever I've been and gone
Wherever I have gone
The blues are all the same

Paul Simon produced Jackson C Frank's eponymous first album - his version of this is even better (and how often can we say that?). Jackson died a homeless, penniless schizophrenic - a terrible loss and a beautiful talent. Check out his version on YouTube - it's kind of worth it...

luv jackson c frank

The Iceman

Jackson C. Frank's album is my favorite folk album ever, one of my favorite albums period.
Imagine how his life would have been if he had the royalties from this, if only it had been included on the Sounds Of Silence album....

Eily Bergin

And James Garfunkel squanders Art's millions and went quite nuts because he has so much money he rarely can spend all of it in a lifetime. -_-

Mark Penny

They turned Jackson's heart-wrenching tune into a warm rich melody. Love both versions.

Jam Fuse

I've never heard this version before , amazing how they make it a completely different song but equally as great as the original. Or almost as good anyway!

Sean o'neill

I hope that Jackson's surviving child is befitting from the royalties this and his original must generate

This is my favourite song by S & G!

Byron Gordon

It's melancholy, a la S&G.
